UNTIL WE DO THIS NOTHING WILL CHANGE AT DA'S OFFICE

In the case of Erasmo Castro if he is guilty we have to hope the police made no mistakes.  I know of a case which was just dismissed by DA Saenz because the evidence showed the police officer lied.  Any mistake by the police could mean any charges against Castro, regardless of innocence or guilt, can be tossed.

THE BISD MESS

The BISD Board of Trustees have options to end this because of his felony conviction.  They will never act because the BISD Board of Trustees is nothing more than a swamp of filth.  They all have something on another.  So unless the state agency which oversees the trustees steps in, expect nothing.

Saenz by any measure is disqualified to oversee Castro's case.  If Castro seeks his removal and he refuses, Castro will have a great issue for appeal.

WE NEED TWO THINGS

We need the Texas AG criminal section to assign a special prosecutor.  This is important at many levels.  They have no loyalty to local law enforcement and will have no problem questioning whether everything was done by the book.  This is not about letting the guilty off, it is about making sure they cannot prosecute the innocent.

Second we need the state agency which oversees the Trustees to investigate whether Castro is even qualified to be a trustee.

In Saenz's hand I expect a dismissal or a plea bargain without any conviction. This will not be special for Castro.  It is just Saenz continuing his policy that DWI is not a serious crime.

For over 30 years in Dallas all DWI plea bargains include a conviction.  The deal comes in lower fines and fewer restrictions.  It is time in Cameron county all DWI plea bargains must include a conviction.
