NURITH GALONSKY MUST RECUSE HERSELF FROM TUESDAY'S EXECUTIVE SESSION ON POLICE PAY

COB Ethics:

It is not disputed the Brownsville Police Department is preparing a DWI charge against Erasmo Castro.  It is not disputed that live on air Nurith Galonsky, as a city commission, stated she could be Erasmo Castro's attorney.

The Rule:
(a)
General rule. A city official or employee shall not:
(1)
Solicit, accept, or engage in concurrent outside employment that could reasonably be expected to impair independence of judgment in or faithful performance of official duties; or

The only issue set for executive session Tuesday is wages and benefits for the BPOA. Nurith's statement could be Castro's attorney while discussing the possible DWI charge, puts her in direct conflict with the police department. She cannot vote on their wages while she is offering to represent Castro who the police are about to charge with a crime.

EDITOR'S NOTE:

Nearly 4 weeks ago I rejected an anony comment that Ben Neece and Abraham Galonosky were grooming Nurith Galonsky for mayor.  It was just too absurd to be truthful.  But now more information is coming out that there may be some truth to this claim.  The BV is on the story.

Edited for clarity.  Sorry guys I just woke up since I originally posted.  It can take two weeks for the shunt valve adjustment to work.  Then it can be another 2-4 weeks for the brain to adjust to the new pressure levels.  My head was going to blow this morning and I just did not see the mistake until now. I also made a correction to the headlines in the previous story.

Cannot post without oucs to prove the claim

I heard the same rumor but I hear it’s going to be Galonsky vs Jessica Tetreau for mayor in 2023. Should be interesting.

I do not believe Mike Hernandez would be dumb enough to run Jessica. Further the reason I believe this all to be speculation is Mayor Mendez is already entrenched well beyond Brownsville and is seen as key to local development. Anyone challenging Mayor Mendez would see themselves battling very big money from all over the state, and a mayor seen in a very positive light.

I still see this as a rumor, but the claims are now coming up more and more. Given how greedy Abraham Galonsky is, such a dumb political move seeks possible.

Castro's lawyer is Angela Nix.
Trey Mendez is doing great right now, neither Jessica nor Galonsky will win if they face him.

Your comment is not exactly right, but highly probably right. I do expect Angela Nix to be Castro's attorney. But that is not the issue. The issue is Nurith's statement she could be Castro's attorney. The fact those in the know expect Angela Nix to appear for him is meaningless to the question

On Trey he seems to understand the inherent power in what is otherwise normally not a very powerful position. He is using every legal means to move the city forward and certain commissioners are mad because it is not their way. We have a shameful proxy war in the blogs of some pushing for Galonsky and others pushing for Hernandez. This is sad. Now if Hernandez had the right advisors he could take down Neece and Galonsky with one swing. But competence is not what Hernandez looks for in allies. He looks for lemmings

The mispelled word is "pics." My point was without pictures to prove the claim I will not post the comment. If you are there to see it you can certainly take out your phone and take a picture. The fact you did not tells me a lot.

Further, I have been down all day sleeping. I just checked the IP. BISD employees should not be on the internet trashing trustees. No matter what I thing of Castro this is not a proper use of BISD resources or time.
