THE UNINFORMED VOTER DUARDO ALLOWED TO POST WITHOUT CHALLENGE AS TO THE MISTAKES AND MYTHS -

hOW MANY MISTAKES ARE IN THIS POST?  TO BE FAIR THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH OUR SYSTEM.  I WOULD SUBMIT THE MAJORITY OF VOTERS IN PART VOTE BASED ON DISINFORMATION AND MYTHS

MARY S. CONTRERAS-REY

Good morning, Mr. Editor:
I supported Trey two terms!! However, after careful consideration, I came to the conclusion that I could not longer support a person who wears too many hats ie. full-time attorney, full-time pizzeria owner, full-time Texas Southmost College Board Member, and if elected, full-time mayor? How would he do it? That’s not all…the fact that he said he “would fire her all over again” referring to the firing of TSC President Dr. Lily Tercero was flabbergasting to me, imho this was stupid, and an eye opener for many people. Obviously he didn’t do it alone, but he was the deciding vote and he chose to follow a wrong order. Following wrong orders has consequences!! The consequences in this case are 13.1 million dollars which our small college/all of us taxpayers, have to pay.
Thank you for allowing my humble opinion.
Respectfully,
Mary S. Contreras-Rey
At the heart of Mary's theme is a full time mayor.  Charlie Cabler making this claim is like a high school student claiming to be a full time brain surgeon.  Brownsville by law is run by a city manager who cannot be by law micromanaged by the mayor or anyone else.
The role of the mayor just like all the city commissioners is oversight of the city management and voting on policies and contracts.  So the position Charlie Cabler is running for does not exist.
Contrary to Mary's claim, Trey Mendez will no longer be on the TSC Board.  Further her deception on being a full owner of his pizza company means nothing.  Through my 401k I own a lot of shares in several corporations.  It means nothing.  Dodici is basically on the day to day full time part is run by the two other partners and not Trey.
Trey on the other hand has lead in many regards developing downtown without being mayor.  His work on the issue will continue which is what a mayor should do.
In part Mary reminds me of the toothless guy on Mississippi failing to understand universal health care is good for him.  Because of Trey and so many others the property value of her home is going up.  She is in the heart of redevelopment on St. Charles.  Her age locks in her taxes.
MARY IS FLABBERGASTED OVER TREY REFUSING TO ADMIT FIRING TERCERO WAS A MISTAKE EVEN THOUGH SHE ADMITTED SHE USED THE SIGNATURE STAMPS OF FORMER TRUSTEES TO SIGN A MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT
Translation of the above is, Mary will have no problem with the City Manager illegally signing contracts for the city.  She simply has failed to think it out.
Facts matter and TSC has proven to the court it never had jurisdiction over the breach of contract case.  The verdict is going to collapse.  The jury bought into a conspiracy to fire Tercero while ignoring her admission she used the signature stamps of former trustees.  Independent of the fact not even Tercero's lawyers are arguing the federal court has jurisdiction in a breach of contract case, or  the fact Tercero did not illegally use the signature stamps of  two former trustees to approve a million dollar contract what makes her think Trey was wrong for firing Tercero.
WHAT MARY NEEDS TO ANSWER IS
Does she actually believe Tercero did not deserve to be fired?  Why does she state Trey will be a full time TSC trustee while being mayor when the law prohibits same?  If you believe Mary Trey has at least 4 full time jobs.
Why does she pretend Brownsville is not run by a city manager and that Cabler will be running the city when by law he cannot.
I cannot remember the last time I even say Trey at Dodici's.
SO WHY DID DUARDO ALLOW ALL OF THIS DISINFORMATION TO GO UNCHALLENGED?
He had no interest in fact.  He just wanted to stir trouble and no competent blogger or journalist would have allowed Mary's comment to go unchallenged.
DID MARY ACT IN BAD FAITH?
No, she is just an uninformed voter who should have been guided with challenging questions. But alas she was not, she was used as a tool.
