CANDIDATES SILENT ON THE ISSUES

Every day I am rejecting valid comments on the total lack of discussion by all candidates of the people's issues. I have been debating this for weeks and finally decided this is the best way to handle this silence.

I AM HUGE ADVOCATE THAT TREY MENDEZ, ROSE GOWEN AND BEN NEECE ARE GOING TO DO AMAZING THINGS FOR DOWNTOWN WHICH WILL MEAN MORE TAX REVENUES AND A PLACE WE WANT TO RELAX IN THE EVENINGS

But the people do not relate to downtown and do not fully get it is a key issue.  The rejected comments are about why is no one discussing a solution to the Tenaska problem.  The BV has not been unreasonable on a solution.  Instead of giving back the money designate it for infrastructure.  We need to lower rates to include abolishing the fee for the fuel surcharge.

BTW - MY BPUB bill just posted and it $75 less than last year for the same period.  That blow in insulation really helped.

Public works is a mess.  Not a word from any candidate on a replacement of the director or the best way to go about it.  We need a national search with the new city commission doing the actual hiring.

Illegal dumping is being ignored.  Blaming the city crews is not a solution.  It is the city policy which tells poor people that have to pay to dump remodeling trash or dump it illegally in the alley.  In Dallas the people get to take two trips a year to dump remodelling material for free.  The COB prefers to have the people dump the trash in the alleys and then pay GMS to retrieve it.  This is just bad policy.

I can go on and on about the complaints.  They are all valid. So the question is, why are all the candidates silent on the issues which directly impact the people.  People vote not FB.  This could end up being a hard lesson for some of the candidates.  In a run-off you have to get all of your people out, and the losers candidates out.  If you do not give them a reason they will stay home.

In round one the low turn out worked against Tony Martinez because the blind voter who votes incumbent did not vote.  In this round we have deliberate voters.  Tony's voters want something of substance otherwise they will stay home.

John Cowen is wasting away to nothing to get to the people.  Nurith is out nearly every day getting to the people.  Whether I like them or not the issue.  They are real faces for the voters.  They are real and not just campaign signs.  Take note candidates.
