HOW PUBLIC STATEMENTS ON POD CASTS OR TOWN HALL MEETINGS CAN SINK A CANDIDATE - TWO CASES IN POINT

As I have said many times, I love when people speak because it tells us the truth about their character.

Tony Martinez's appearance on the Castro podcast is being edited for all his lies.  At some point what you will see is all of his lies and deceptions side by side with the proof he lied.  You would think as a lawyer Tony would know better.  He did not.

The second case is point is Julian Castro.  As mayor of San Antonio he did a good job, but catering to the community of Americans of African descent to win the Democratic Primary for President tells me he is not ready for prime time.

THE ISSUE IS REPARATIONS FOR THE DESCENDENTS OF SLAVES - IT IS A FACT - IT IS A DEAD ISSUE

But Julian Castro has chosen to cater to the low information voter.  Trust me, not all Americans of African descent support reparations.  The low information voter and  those who are poor will think they will get a big check - and that is the issue.

FROM JULIAN CASTRO:

"To my mind that may or may not be the best way to address it," Castro said. "However, it's interesting to me that when it comes to Medicare for all, health care, you know, the response there has been we need to write a big check, that when it comes to tuition-free or debt-free college, the answer has been we need to write a big check."
Castro continued, "And so if the issue is compensating the descendants of slaves, I don't think that the argument about writing a big check ought to be the argument that you make if you're making an argument that a big check needs to be written for a whole bunch of other stuff."

What Julian Castro did for his own self interests is give the Republicans a weapon against the Democrats.  Not even a majority of Democrats would vote for reparations.  This is just pathetic politics catering to a small group of voters in hopes of winning the Democratic Primary.

What he has done is lock himself into an promise he can never deliver on, while alienating Independents, and moderate Democrats.  He could not even run a viable campaign against John Cornyn at this point for U.S. Senate.

THE REALITY

Universal Health care, and tuition free or debt free college would do more for all Americans and in particularly for Latinos of Americans of African descent than a reparations check.

Editor's Note:

By chance while watching the news in SA, I learned The Butthole Surfers were a band started by students at Trinity University. They faced a lot of backlash for their indecency and vulgarities.
