SPACEX HAS ITS FIRST ROCKET SET UP AND READY TO GO AT BOCA CHICA

This rocket is still in its experimental state and is not even designed to fly as high as a plane.

"Complete with a decidedly retro feel, SpaceX's new experimental rocket has been fully assembled at the company's Boca Chica, Texas, launch site. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has tweeted out a picture of the Starship test rocket."

The rocket is in a developmental stage for eventual use for missions to Mars.  It is one step at a time.  I love the fact it looks like a rocket from a 1950's SyFi movie.

"The "test hopper," as Musk and COO Gwynne Shotwell call it, isn't actually meant to fly into space. It's meant for suborbital VTOL testing (vertical takeoff and landing). It will hop, so to speak, around 16,400 feet into the air and then land again, according to documents filed with the FCC. These tests are crucial for new rockets like the SpaceX Starship."

As of January 10, SpaceX was estimating 4-8 weeks before launch.

Now remember people the County built a special bleacher type pavilion for watching the launch from the South end of SPI.  I will keep an eye on the issue to see how they are going to allot the seating.  If you want to see a riot, do it first come first served.  They need to create a lottery system in advance so everyone has a fair chance.

In an unrelated article SpaceX has stated its decision to layoff 10% of its workforce will not impact the launch or program at Boca Chica.
