TEXAS SUPREME COURT BOOSTS WALMART'S PROFITS WHILE KILLING OUR WILD LIFE AND POLLUTING OUR CITIES

Sorry for the limited post yesterday, but I believe it is important if only one women understands my post every August 1st and is saved it is worth it.

So here is the deal, the city can no longer charge a fee for bags as part of its ban.  But Walmart is now charging 5 cents per bag.  So instead of the money going to the taxpayers to help the city defer costs on projects, the money will go to one of the wealthiest families in the world.  Only in Republican Texas do you take tax revenues from the cities and transfer it to the corporations.

AN AFTERTHOUGHT

Assuming there is no Texas law against it, what prevents the city from allowing for plastic bags, but charging a tax of 5 cents per bag.  All over the US stores charge 5 cents for every recyclable item.  In NY they have containers which will count your cans and bottles and refund the 5 cents for each one you put in the container.  This concept is not new.  It is something the city should think on.  If the people are going to pay the 5 cents anyway, why allow it to go to the corporations.
