EXTENDING THE CONVERSATION ON TWO FRONTS - SPECIAL NEEDS AND GRANTS

There needs to be leadership now for all school districts  to offer special needs testing for adults who cannot pass the GED.  Years ago I tried to get UTB to start a clinic where these adults could be tested, and I received a resounding no.  Why UTB would oppose a practical clinic for those being trained to do the testing cannot be explained.

I work with a lot of adults to help them pass the GED.  I show them all the tricks to test taking and insure they understand the material.  But because they cannot get accommodation during the GED testing they fail.  When you meet some of these people they are successful and bright but then get laid off because of the failing box stores and no one will give them an interview.  The unemployment runs out and they go into financial ruin.  We need to address this now so these adults can get retrained for the new jobs coming to Brownsville.

MONTOYA DESPERATE TO GO ON THE ATTACK MISSES A KEY QUALIFICATION OF MARIO LOSOYA, FOR THE GBIC
"Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant Program Advisory Board
This board Assists the Texas Workforce Commission in administering the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant program, which provides grants to public junior colleges, public technical institutes and certain independent school districts.
Mario Lozoya"
Look the San Antonio Toyota partnership is studied at the university as one of the great success stories.  One reason I backed Sanchez for County Judge in the primaries is he had been to San Antonio to study and learn from the partnership.  The bottom line is if you were part of this success story, you are good for Brownsville.
But Montoya writes for pay.  Mike Hernandez has a wild hair up his ass for the Cowen family which is why the piece is more about a non-existent conspiracy instead of truly digging into who is Mario Lozoya, and what he really has to offer.
NOW PAY ATTENTION
He oversaw Texas Workforce Commission grants.  We will now have an insider into how grants are awarded.  Maybe he can get TWC to provide free job training in the various forms of forklifts.  There are plenty of job openings for forklift workers, but no job training.
As my readers can see I am sticking with the theme of education and grants and not for pay going down the path endless conspiracy theories to destroy the Cowen family because they refuse to bow down to the con artist Mike Hernandez.
