SAYING GOOD - BYE TO BUSTER

Assuming Buster makes it through the night, we will be at the vet at 7:30.  It is time.  It is noon and she has yet to wake up or get up.  No bathroom nothing.  She woke me at 3 a.m. to go out.  She then fell asleep next to the door going to the pool deck and has remained there since.

I tried to take her to the vet yesterday, but they said they were so booked they could not even do an emergency walkin.  They will take her tomorrow as an emergency walkin but we may have to wait for hours with her on the floor just sleeping or unable to move.

I hope she passes today or tonight - it is time.  I have a massive headache and can do little more than keep an eye on her.  She does not appear to be suffering.  Sometimes her eyes are open, but then she goes back to sleep.

Old age is cruel when passing drags out.  I have always said passing in your sleep without warning is always the best way to go.

I am settled in with her passing.  I just hate to see how it is happening.

There is a mobile vet that will come to your house to put your dog to sleep. I found them on Facebook, they were in north brownsville or olmito an they came right away.

Well she woke up at 12:19 and I was able to assist her outside. She did her business, ate a treat and took her 81 mg asperin. She is walking in and out now. But in short order she will go back to sleep. Thanks for the heads up. I want her to be with her regular vet. She has been with Dr. Head for 13 1/2 years.

It is better to wait for the vet you trust and who knows your pet. Good luck Buster.

She is doing better. She got up for 90 minutes and then slept again. I heard a whine, got her up she went out and did her business. She ate something and drank some water. For about 30 minutes she walked around the house while also going out. Now she is just laying down - not quite asleep.

Thanks for caring,

I am at a loss because she is really just failing but not suffering so long as she gets her aspirin. Is failing a basis to put a dog down? The real issue is me being here nearly all of the time to attend to her and she dones well.
