This is a huge loss for Trump and a big win for women.  I use projected because the number is still not as high as I want.  There will be more mail votes and provisional votes counted in the days ahead.

If this reality holds the US Senate is now 51/49 favoring the Republicans.  Republican Senator Susan Collins has said she is not on board with the Republican tax bill.  Just one more Republican says no, and Trump's tax reform fails.

With 2018 around the corner and the RNC backing Roy Moore, Republican Senators are going to rethink their position on Trump.

Two Republicans going independent will turn the Senate to the Democrats and make Trump a lame duck president until at least January 2019, or possibly the remainder of his term.

But I caution, as I am typing Jones margin has shrunk to under 10,000.  So once the other votes are counted we could see a different result.

But no matter how you look at it, the Republicans are going to do some soul searching about 2018.
