TUESDAY'S CITY COMMISSION MEETING SEES TONY MARTINEZ AS BIGGEST WINNER

Montoya was paid to post a pathetic distraction story away from Cesar De Leon saying given all of the problems Brownsville has, why are we spending time on a racist rant?

Then after the meeting after pretending to care so much about the people's business Montoya does not even mention the most important thing which happened at the meeting for the people.

Now look, I believe nothing coming from the COB.  But if what was discussed about flood control is real, then the people won big time on this issue.  After Harvey there were a ton of articles on how Holland is the expert on flooding.  Mayor Tony Martinez made note of this.  It sounds like if they are telling the truth, there is a good plan in place to start addressing the flooding problem.

I loved the overlay of how the 6 inches of rain Brownsville got a few months ago, looked as bad in places as Houston after Harvey left 50 inches.

The BV predicted the 15 minutes of fame concerning Cesar was over.  It is.  But unlike Montoya I covered all sides with no sacred cows.  And unlike Montoya I am not waiting for a check to tell me to write about the good news concerning the flooding problems of Brownsville.

I also liked the comment that it will be slow going because money is a factor.  Nothing wrong with honesty.  But urgent areas such as 4 Corners is already being addressed.

This is what the people want.

BEN NEECE LEFT WITHOUT HIS AQUACUATES

It was something for Ben Neece wanting a quick vote to remove the Confederate Memorial, while the mayor was calling for an open public meeting so all sides can be heard.  Did the mayor just show how little Ben Neece cares about open speech when it goes to issues he cares about, and would rather not hear from the people.  Admit it Ben, Tony outmaneuvered you and you are now impotent.  You are now defined by Jessica and Cesar.
