AFTER INVESTMENT IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY, BPUB BILL DOWN $80, FROM THIS TIME LAST YEAR

When people looking to buy a home come to me for help, I always tell them to tell the sellers you want to see the BPUB bills from June through September.  That house next door may be a bit more expensive but if their BPUB bill is a $100-$200 less a month, it is actually cheaper.

I will note the energy surcharge is no longer on the bill.  So that would be part of my savings.

CORRECTION:

When I started the above sentence, I was going to complain about the energy surcharge and then I thought I better go back and check the bill.  I did not see the energy surcharge which was added when the cost of fuel was over the top, as opposed to the now record lows.  So it occurred to me maybe it is in the part on the electric summary.  There it was $56.53. This is an outright theft by BPUB.  The reason given to the city commission to justify the surcharge no longer exists.  So why do we pay it?  Theft.
