HOW THE COB, CAMERON COUNTY, TSC, AND MIKE HERNANDEZ TURNED A BLIND EYE TO THE DEMAND FOR JOB TRAINING

AN OPEN QUESTION FOR MIKE HERNANDEZ, WHAT DID YOUR BOY TOY CARLOS MARIN DO TO PREPARE BROWNSVILLE FOR SATA? NOTHING WHICH IS WHY WE STILL DO NOT HAVE TRAINED WORKERS

Carlos Marin's position at OP10.3.3 "Carlos Marin, Ph.D., PE - Job Development Director.  Carlos gets an F for failing to have trained workers ready for SATA.   From Mike Hernandez concerning the failure Carlos Marin ""We have total confidence and trust in Dr. Marin. He has volunteered much of his time to help design strategies that will help create good paying jobs for a community who wants them. We feel very fortunate to have him on our team."

What strategy did he develop to insure SATA had the workers they needed?  Nothing

All knew well in advance an Italian Company by the name of SATA was coming to Brownsville to do robotics manufacturing. They came as promised, started the manufacturing process, but because we have no trained workers they are short workers.  They are bringing people from outside the US to help with the training.

Look it is an act in futility to expect our local leaders to ever see what is needed to expand the local economy. They had plenty of advanced warning on this one, and said - "oh well, lets talk about park trails, or refurbishing buildings we cannot afford,"

For 13 years I have posted numerous articles on the need for robotics training.  I profiled a company between Harlingen and McAllen which cannot keep up with the robotic manufactured block.  He had to go outside the are for workers because as I noted then, from McAllen  to Brownsville you could not find one elected official how understood you must have trained workers if you  want to being in manufacturing.

I have profiled every year the plastic pumpkins sold at Walmart made by robotics in Arkansas.  I have profiled my ankle socks with rubber strips on the bottom made in Kentucky by robotics.  I have profiled all of the glass products made in the US by robotics.  Nothing, our elected officials cannot make the connection - trained workers means jobs.

HEMP

For more years than I can remember I have pushed Hemp as an alternative crop to cotton for the LRGV.  This year the law made it out of committee but it was not scheduled for a floor vote so it died.  It means less cost for the farmers, and manufacturing jobs processing the Hemp and manufacturing all sorts of things.  But our local state representatives refused to lift a finger to help this along.

THE OLDEST LIE ON THE BOOKS

Vote for Me and I will Bring Jobs.  I say any candidate says this disqualifies them from public office.  The lies has been told too many times to have meaning.

I do not doubt your comment. It could actually lead to a good story. When I get home in about an hour I will check county records and then your comment will become a story with me giving you as an annoy credit. Thanks. Just let me print the proof and then we will have a great verified story
