THE HEADACHES GOT THE BETTER OF ME AND THE VA ORDERED I BE BROUGHT TO MCALLEN MEDICAL CENTER - VALLEY BAPTIST WAS NOT AN OPTION

UPDATE 2

You must learn to be your own advocate. They changed neurologists on me and the new guy was terrible. He thought I was stupid and didn't know better. I called the attending and he sent a Dr Hussain who did the spinal tap right in my room. No problem what so ever. It hurt like he'll except the final part of the puncture. I did not feel a thing. So now I wait for the results. If they are negative for elevated pressure I just live with the disabling headaches. I have work and stories to write. I'm ready to go home.
UPDATE

I cannot post new from my phone but can edit. Complications with the spinal tap will keep me here for now. We are waiting on a neurosurgeon to decide if he can do it. Apparently there is too much bone to make a normal puncture. This sucks.

ORIGINAL POST

They are unsuccessfully using morphine to treat the headaches.  I am still waiting on the neurologist to decide if she will do a spinal tap.  It is the only option left.  CFL can explain the empty sells and headaches.  This is the key to the reason for the spinal tap my PC ordered.  Until I see the neurologist, I have no idea how long I will be here.  Morphine is not an option for treatment.  They need to find the cause and treat the cause.

First McAllen medical center is a billion times better than valley Baptist. The neurologist is brilliant a word I almost never use when talking about a neurologists. They just did a test which requires arterial blood. Very very painful. The spinal tap has been ordered. I special brain MRI has been ordered which is different than any other brain MRI. The morphine does nothing for me. For now I am just dealing with the pain rather than experiment with different pain killers. I am here until the weekend. Why can Brownsville not have a great hospital. This place and staff are the best.

I have no internet service. It worked this morning hi it will not work. I know several people in McAllen. If you come by being a Wendy's bacon burger or 6 soft tacos

Still no internet service. I'm dealing with the morphine. I've been waiting on the spinal tap and a specialized brain MRI. McAllen medical center is wonderful. Valley Baptist is a dump in comparison.

What's the name of the Neuroligist?

I'm willing to name the good neurologist but not the bad one. A spinal tap can be dangerous. Many are afraid to do them for fear of being sued so they make up stupid excuses. Just say you do not do them. End of story.

Yes, please do, the good one.
The bad one is not even worth your free advertising. I hope you feel better.

The good neuorologist is Syed Husssain. He is 100% professional and he expects the nurses to meet his demands. They did, but a bit slow - but everyone was cool about it. In fact I could see in the two nurses' eyes they were in awe of his work. I think as he did the spinal tap they understood why he does not like to say things twice. There is no time for delay or a mistake. I think it was a good learning experience for the nurses to work with such an amazing doctor. Everyone was happy. I remember the nurse's excitement in her voice when she saw he got the spinal fluid.

He graduated in Pakistan and I am sure glad he is here and Trump cannot keep him out. Content of character and your competency is what I care about - not your country of original or your beliefs or gender -

As a community we should be grateful to have such an amazing neurogolist. And a great call out to my attending Dr. Alam, also Pakistan. While I am glad they are here, sad that Pakistan lost two amazing doctors. I never like the attendings but this guy was good and incredibly caring. When the second neurologist tried to discharge me claiming the hospital would not allow for a second try at the spinal tap, Dr. Alam called Dr. Hussain and there he was taping away with no problems.
