WHO DO CAMERON COUNTY REPUBLICANS REPRESENT, CAMERON COUNTY OR TRUMP?

Just moments ago President Trump announced his intent to hit Mexican imports which are based on US jobs which transferred to Mexico with a huge tariff.  All border counties make millions in bridge fees based on trade with Mexico. Unemployed Mexicans cannot buy US made imports to Mexico.  The Texas Republican Party and Congressional Delegation need to educate Trump on the special relationship between Mexico and the border states.  Mexican made car parts make it cheaper to do the final assembly in the US.  Trump's proposed policies on Mexico are a disaster in waiting.  So what say you Cameron county Republicans?  Is former Republican Cameron County Judge Tony Garza just wrong, or is Trump wrong?

Local republicans and democrats represent THEMSELVES; they dont represent residents.

They should represent the people of the usa

Then why are they elected locally or by state? So they should vote against Texas and leave the border counties with budget deficits if that is best for the US? Hum? Not how you get reeelcted/

Typical I have no solution comment. The issue is how is Trump's policies going to impact us. The Dems have no ear with Trump. This is a Republican issue and the Republicans need to address it and since you know I am right and you cannot respond you deflect to hey look at the Dems. And so what? They can do nothing to influence Trump. They will oppose his poliies on Mexico. the question is will Cameron county Republicans stand with us, or allow our county budget to plummet while fees drop as trade decreases?

Trump talked about how past policies failed the rust belt states. Their industry failed because the local leadership did nothing to train their workforce to be more competitive, the corporations did nothing to upgrade their manufacturing process, and the unions refused to face reality. You cannot sell cars which are too expensive to build. This latter part is exactly what will happen when car parts are no longer made in Mexico. You watch as the car factories in Alabama start to lay off people because car sales go down as costs and interest rates go up.

The McAllen Mayor with the Commission consent is inviting Trump to our area to see how NAFTA has created jobs for us. But we do not matter to Trump. It is easier to play the race card to explain what happened in the rust belt than tell the truth about how they did it to themselves, and how NAFTA has helped some of the poorest communities in the US. We have faces too, but not the type Trump wants to look at.
