A TYPO CONCERNING FEDERAL JUDGE ROLANDO OLVERA MAKES YOU THINK TWICE

I keep a close eye on the case of Marisa Hernandez, accused of allegedly killing Mary Tipton during a car accident, and failing to render aid.

When I checked the online docket sheet this is what I saw, "

02/15/2017Announcement  (9:00 AM) (Judicial Officer Olvera, Rolando)
Trial: 2/27/17

First our federal courts in the Southern District are overwhelmed. Second, I can find no history of a sitting federal judge acting as a visiting judge in State court. Clearly someone made a typo. But it is more than that. It means I cannot trust the online docket sheet for accurate information in this case.

Oh, Bobby, quit being such a drama queen. The judges in the County program are given a number in the database based on when they took office. Some clerk just made a typo and keyed in the wrong number for the judge which led to an erroneous entry on former District Judge Olvera. The reason he's even still in the system is because there are cases in the system that Olvera adjudicated that have been archived in the database. There are some bad apples, yes, but most are just hard working people. Just assume good faith.

Hence I typed, type. Nothing less nothing more. So why you are making a big deal about it is beyond me. What will happen is the clerk who made the mistake will correct it and we will know the name of the true visiting judge. But what you fail to understand is typos and little mistakes has led to people being wrongfully arrested for failure to appear. So it is important we keep the clerks on their toes.

It was a typo exactly as i wrote.

Nothing but DIRTY POLITICS has kept this case from being heard before this 2017 date. The courts are pushing this case back so there can't be a law suit filed. Typical corrupt politicians playing the same DIRTY ROLES that have plagued our county

It is standard practice in this case for a caseto be delayed for the new judge so one judge hears the trial and the motion for new trial. Plus there was a new indictment. Had De Coss denied a continuance based on the new indictment the court of appeals would have reversed him and thrown out any verdict. Finally nothing prevents any lawsuit to be filed. I know of no valid lawsuit which an be filed and I have reviewed this case from top to botton. I know of criminal charges which should be filed against law enforcement for obstruction of justice, but there is still plenty of time for that.

But if someone sees a civil lawsuit this criminal case does nothing to prevent them from filing it. marisa Hernandez will be allowed to remain silent until after the criminal case, but once the criminal case is done she will have to participate in the civil case.
