SUPREME COURT ENDS IMMIGRATION CASE WITH LOCAL FEDERAL JUDGE HANEN TAKING THE WIN

CORRECTION:

President Obama did have his 4 votes in round one, but the tie meant Hanen's order stood.  Because the appeal involved a Preliminary Injunction the case is not done.  After the election the Senate will have to confirm a replacement for the late Justice Scalia.  If Hillary wins she will certainly appoint someone more favorable to Obama's Executive Order.  If the Democrats take the Senate and Hillary wins we can expect an expedited confirmation process.

ORIGINAL POST

To put this into perspective, it only takes 4 votes for a case to be heard.  Twice President Obama could not muster the votes of the 4 Democrats on the Supreme Court to hear the case.  [see correction] He lost in round one, and today in round two.  Some might say had his replacement of the late Justice Scalia been confirmed President Obama may have had his 4 votes.  But to win you need 5 votes.  So it seems President Obama even with the Scalia replacement, he would have lost. [ again see correction - it is highly likely he would have had his 5 votes]

But be careful what you ask for.  This [temporary] death nail to President Obama's immigration plan may just push more Hispanics to vote against the Republicans.  This may be a case of winning the battle but losing the war.

AFTER SUPREME COURT ANGERS HISPANICS ON IMMIGRATION, AN ALL REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE COURT OF APPEALS PANEL FINDS REPUBLIC VP CANDIDATE PENCE VIOLATED FEDERAL LAW BY NOT USING FEDERAL MONEY FOR SYRIANS

"In a unanimous opinion, the appeals court said Gov. Pence acted illegally in accepting federal money for refugee resettlement and then refusing to use that money to aid Syrian refugees."

So now the Hispanics are mad at the Republicans and the Muslim and Middle Eastern voters are mad at the Republicans.  It only gets better.
