BISD ELECTION - IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE KIDS VOTE A BLANK BALLOT

Because each place has 5 candidates the winning candidate can literally win with a mere 21% of the vote.

From the Herald:

Here are the candidates, listed by the board position they seek and place on the ballot:
Position 3: 1. Argelia Miller, 2. Herman Otis Powers Jr. (incumbent), 3. Josette A Cruz, 4. Jorge Valdez, 5. Phillip T. Cowen.
Position 5: 1. Laura Perez-Reyes, 2. Erasmo Castro, 3. Elia Cornejo Lopez, 4. Caty Presas-Garcia (incumbent), 5. Laura Castro.
Position 6: 1. Roberto Uresti, 2. Rhonda Cavazos, 3. Anna E. Hernandez-Oquin, 4. Kent Whittemore, 5. Minerva M. Peña (incumbent).
Position 7: 1. Norberto Rangel, 2. Jose Hector Chirinos (incumbent), 3. Rigo Bocanegra, 4. Sylvia Perez Atkinson, 5. Orlando Carlos Treviño.
There are a lot of new names, but based on FB posts I have seen no evidence any of the candidates know anything about the issues.
BUT THE MOST INTERESTING RACE IS POSITION 5.  You have 4 women competing for the female vote with one male candidate, this will work to Erasmo Castro's benefit.  But you also have 4 candidates splitting the anti-Presas-Garcia vote - this will benefit Presas-Garcia in a plurality vote.  Judge Elia Cornejo-Lopez is a wrench in this race.  She will raise the money and carry a lot of weight as a judge.  With only 21% of  the vote to win she could pull enough anti-Presas-Garcia vote and female vote to take the election. The other candidates are non-starters.

UPDATE:  I am trying to understand why Judge Lopez would put her position as a judge in jeopardy in order to run for the office of trustee.  Well actually the judicial position only becomes endangered if she wins.  She can technically win, thereby throwing Presas-Garcia off of the Board, and then accept the position and then immediately resign thereby giving the new majority the right to appoint Presas-Garcia's replacement.
IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN YOU WILL VOTE A BLANK BALLOT.
One simple issue no one is talking about.  Millions are spent on attorneys fees and legal settlements while the teachers go without supplies.  The federal government has declare our children so poor the government pays to feed our school children three free meals a day.  BISD then turns around and demands the parents who cannot even feed their children fund the teachers with classroom supplies.  Shame - absolutely no shame by any incumbent board member or Desesperanza Zendejas.  Mike Hernandez would have been better off buying every teacher three cases of copy paper than passing out bug spray.  The bug spray will do nothing to stop or control the Zika virus.  It was a con publicity stunt which helped no one.
Will any candidate raise any specific issue - I doubt it because they do not know the issues or the needs of the children.
AGAIN IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN - SEND A MESSAGE WITH A BLANK BALLOT.

Is Erasmo Castro in?

As far as I know he is, but if he wins the second place winner will have no problem suing and having his felony conviction reinstated and thereby being barred from holding office
