This is Friday on my brother's boat on Fire Island.  The family all took the ferry across.  There is only one bridge and no roads.  The bridge goes into Robert Moses Park.  All along Fire Island are small residential areas with docks on the bay side.  Every year my brother and his wife park the boat for a week in  slip along with a group of their friends.  The dock owners provide electricity, water and sewage for a large fee.  We spent the day on the beach on the Atlantic side and about a 1/2 hour before the 7:30 ferry back we met at my brother's boat and had a good time.
Pictured is my sister who lost her husband, me, and my youngest brother who owns the boat with his wife behind him.  All three of my sister's daughters, 8 grand daughters and one grandson, pictured up front, along with two other brothers and two more nieces and two more grand nieces and nephews are pictured.  Three brothers were not able to make the Fire Island trip.
It would be nice if SPI on the bay side had these camp grounds for boaters.  My brother and his friends will use the boat taxis to go to other parts of Fire Islands where you will find fine restaurants and bars.  They will then take the water taxis back to their boats.
I am tired and busy helping my sister process all of the legal things which need to be taken care of.  I will be back late Monday and ready to go.

Mr. BWC you have a beautiful family. Sad that you lost your brother. My condolences to you.
They must think you live in a third world land (Brownsville, Texas).
Have a Good, blessed time. We all need some time to reflect.

Actually my family enjoys Brownsville and SPI. The kids love the zoo. My sister was to bring her and her kids and grandchildren this year but with her husband dying they are waiting until next year. I lost my brother in law in NY on the 1st and my sister in Tenn on the 3rd. Everyone was already heading to NY and no one could be in Tenn. Her children understood.

As you can see in the picture we are outdoor people so they love to relax in Brownsville and SPI and going to Progresso.

Bobby. several countries have issued travel warnings to their citizens traveling to the light of recent violence. Maybe our neighbors to the south should follow this advice and enter with even more caution than they regularly practice.
