ROBERT SANCHEZ ARRESTED AGAIN, THIS TIME FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING HIS FATHER IN LAW

"According to police, Sanchez struck his 72-year-old father-in-law in the face, with a closed fist, after the man told him to leave because Sanchez was reportedly arguing with his daughter."

This appears to be at a felony level.

Sec. 22.04. INJURY TO A CHILD, ELDERLY INDIVIDUAL, OR DISABLED INDIVIDUAL. (a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence, by act or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly by omission, causes to a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual:
(1) serious bodily injury;

(c) In this section:
(2) "Elderly individual" means a person 65 years of age or older.

(e)  An offense under Subsection (a)(1) or (2) or (a-1)(1) or (2) is a felony of the first degree when the conduct is committed intentionally or knowingly.  When the conduct is engaged in recklessly, the offense is a felony of the second degree.

There are currently two assault charges pending from a previous incident.

In both cases the notice to appear is for January 7, 2016.  No counsel of record is listed.  If Saenz is serious about domestic abuse he will move immediately to revoke the bond on the two previous cases while asking for a significantly higher bond on all three cases.

It is always sad to watch anyone's life fall apart.  But Domestic Abuse cannot be tolerated.  When it reaches the point that a spouse's elderly father is allegedly being hit in the face we have a dangerous situation.

I hope this does not end badly.  But one can be assured no message is being sent to Sanchez if Saenz fails to immediately seek to revoke Sanchez bonds on the other two cases.

We shall see how long it takes Saenz to protect this family.

Both of the existing cases are before Judge David Gonzalez - so we shall see if the notice to appear was even sent to the correct address.

This is an area wherein Saenz and the judges all get an "F"  Before any judge sets bail on the new case, Saenz should be notified so that he can send an attorney to the bond hearing to oppose bond or demand a higher bond and that Sanchez be held until he can meet it.

But this is Cameron county and Saenz will deny knowledge of what happened.  The bail setting judge will deny knowledge of his own existence, and Sanchez will walk out of jail without his previous bonds revoked, laughing how broken the system really is.
