IT'S TIME RENE OLIVEIRA HAS AN OPPONENT

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:

DON DELEON FILES TO RUN AGAINST RENE OLIVEIRA

Guys do not even bother with your stupid comments.  The last one I rejected against Rene makes me think the person had never read the BV to think such a vile comment would even get through.

Don Deleon will get a lot of negatives for past failures, but Rene Oliveira is very, very vulnerable.  The key here is, can Deleon raise the money to get out the message fast and create a momentum?  Rene will not do well if he has to go on the defensive right away.  If the horse gets out of the gate this could be an interesting race - out the gate means - raise enough money to start a full page Herald Ad, noting the things I wrote about earlier.

ORIGINAL POST:

His attendance record in Austin for voting is dismissal.  He failed on his promise to push for the innovative workforce training center at ITEC.

From a TSC insider we were seeking an  "innovative workforce training center," where we were requesting dedicated funding from the Leg.  But Rene Oliveira ....  us by doing nothing, despite promises that he would "take the lead" on it and get us funding."

Even United Brownsville Supported the Initiative: "

"Strongly support a separate allocation of $6M in supplemental line item funding
for TSC’s Innovative Workforce Training Center, over and above formula
funding, for program equipment and existing infrastructure renovation."

Rene Oliveira prepared the deal which required UT only pay TSC rent if the legislature approved the rent in the budget.  Of course the money was never approved and TSC was left with more than $10 million owed in back rent, with the taxpayers paying down the bonds for the money borrowed to build the buildings being used by UT Brownsville.

THE FEMALE VOTE

Rene Oliveira introduced legislation which favored mandated cardiac testing for men while not providing the same benefit for women.  The medical community agrees the view women are not equally at risk is causing women to needlessly die from cardiac disease.

THE STATE BAR

Rene Oliveira was given a public reprimand for his role in the Abel Limas affair.

THESE ARE ALL GOOD ISSUES WHICH WILL RESONATE WITH THE PEOPLE

It is time someone step up to the plate and challenge Rene.

I would immediately start with a full page ad in the Herald outlining these issues.  The pro TSC people are already organized and will vote against Rene Oliveira.  Women once reminded about his anti-female cardiac bill will be mad as hell.

The people are done with the corruption and a reminded he was reprimanded by the State Bar for his part in the Abel Limas affair will help the candidate raise the money needed to end Rene Oliveira's horrible representation of Brownsville.
