TEXAS IS A LEADER WHEN PROTECTING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY CAMERON COUNTY UNDER DA SAENZ IS A LEADER IN PROMOTING DOMESTIC ABUSE

PARENTS AGAINST DOMESTIC ABUSE PROFILES SHORT VIDEO ON WHAT HAPPENS IN SOME STATES TO VICTIMS WHO CALL 911 WHEN BEING ABUSED

TEXAS PROTECTS VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE FROM EVICTION, BUT DA SAENZ REFUSES TO HELP

In this video two cases are profiled in states where women are not protected from calling 911, to report domestic abuse. In Texas the landlord cannot evict you for calling 911 to report domestic abuse. I can assure you complaining to Saenz to enforce this law is the same as doing nothing. This is one issue the Fair Housing Commission is taking up against the Brownsville Housing Authority.  When informed of landlords violating the law, the BHA refuses to act against the landlord as mandated by law.

It is sad that Texas seems to be a leader in protecting victims, whether through landlord tenant laws, or the victim not having to sign a complaint in order for the DA to secure a Domestic Abuse Restraining Order or the ability to prosecute, but in Cameron county we have a DA in Saenz who refuses to follow the law, a police chief who refuses to order his officers to comply with the law by arresting the accused if there is evidence of abuse and the Brownsville Housing Authority which seems to think they work for the landlords instead of the poor.
