REORGANIZATION AT BISD IS GOOD

BISD no longer has cluster Area Superintendents

Terri Alarcon for example is in charge of all of the high schools.  Rita Hernandez, is no longer in charge of the Pace cluster, meaning she can no longer protect those within the Pace cluster not doing their job.  Maybe this is how Luis Segura finally got exiled to transportation from Stell middle school, which is not under Rita Hernandez, who now oversees half of the middle schools.

I am seeing aggressive change.  The change up now allows higher ups to see the truth about how incompetent principals and assistant principals were being protected.  This is good.

Based on what I learned in the last few days I expect more changes in time.  The reality of people not listening and screwing up royally is very well known to the higher ups.  But we need to end the exile to transportation.  BISD needs to learn to say - there is the door - you're fired.

See new Structure

Must give lots of credit to Terri Alarcon for taking care of an issue at Hanna regarding early childhood college program. As soon as she was made aware of the situation she had a solution in two days ,she is really on her game. All parents want sometimes are options for there kids.thank you for your prompt concern, and I just hope that in the future that other people have the same concern that she did and don't wait to get bailed by her. THANKS AGAIN L.E.H

An ongoing problem we have been having at a particular high school has seen the Administration reacting immediately to the problems. Yesterday Terri was brought into the conversation and she took care of the problem. What happened to the child was outrageous. People were reprimanded.

I suspect she will be giving a vice principal a lecture today for telling a parent he did not have to ID himself to the parent. That is not professional. But the principal at the school gives new meaning to incompetence so I suspect sooner than later she too will be working at transportation.

Terri was a good choice.

Well now El Jardin is being stuck with Rita Hernandez and she making changes everywhere on campus. My daughter tells me that she overheard that Hernadez wants science to be implemented more in everything including the library. She wants it to be more about science not reading. As if it's was not hard for parents to get the kids to read at home. Is this even right can she do this?

I am not one to defend Rita Hernandez - I think she should have been shown the door a long time ago - but how do you learn science without reading? Further - BISD as a policy is pushing science and so too is the state. Maybe there wasn't enough science in the library.

Brownsville needs one of those interactive children's museums for children - I show Bela science all of the time. She understands pollination - she is having a hard time with planets. She finds the concept of a man walking on the moon weird - she is getting it. I need to buy her a children's globe for her B-Day and an I Tune Card.

She has been designated as gifted and is taking the Galaxy test. You cannot give her enough homework. Also her penmanship is perfect. She is loving Kinder.

My only real wish in life is to live long enough to get her into UTEP and pay for it. UTEP is the best for Latino children. Every top graduate school recruits from UTEP - if she does her part she will be recruited to any under of top of the line graduate schools in the U.S.

If I make it to 78 I will see her graduate, graduate school and be happy.

She is learning how to manage she is smart. She knows many of the other students are having a hard time. She is adjusting. She is so girly girl - if she had her choice she would go to school in a dress every day.

A lot of dead weight Bobby. Many are hanging on to get the best retirement bucks and have no more fuel. Everyone knows that these folks are not doing any benefit to the District but the Sup keeps them in high positions-rewards. BISD is a huge monster to fix. So many board member political hirings, an HR Dept that screws up all and every time and a history of poor and failing admins...it never ends Bobby?

By the way, can you find out about that big group of ladies lawsuit? What was it all about?

I could be wrong but I believe it was based on wage disparity.

Are there more changes Bobby? Who else?

I think the higher ups are building the evidence one step at a time so as to avoid lawsuits. I find it interesting Rita Hernandez was effectively demoted. This tells me Joe Rod's power must be shrinking. Remember his lawyer's law partner is Rita's husband.

What happened to the top administrator related to a board member? What's the story? Is the administrator still with the district? It seems that Juan wrote a story on the administrator's removal but it seems like a cover up story.

She was not demoted Dr Z is just using another type of alignment going away from vertical alignment. Same pay just different schools.

I heard the administrator was now working in another school district.
It seems that Bobby is not addressing anything about the administrators removal. Perhaps the rumor are correct.
