WILLIAM GARZA ENDORSES TONY MARTINEZ

While I agree 100% with William Garza's assessment of Pat Ahumada, I am still voting a blank ballot.

With William Garza asking those who voted for him to vote for Tony Martinez, and Erasmo Castro telling his people to not vote for Pat Ahumada, Tony Martinez will easily take 65% or more of the vote.  It would not surprise me if he hits 70% or more.

Pat never should have entered the race.  Fear of being linked to a circus there were some good people contemplating entering the race, but once Pat entered the race they chose to not be part of the circus.

To date the only former mayoral candidate who has endorsed Pat Ahumada is Robert Sanchez.  If you remember last time around his big issue  was to close our libraries to save money.  Pat would have been better off running from Sanchez, but since Sanchez desperate for meaning in his life is the only one who would talk with Pat, Pat embraced the "I hate libraries" candidate, Robert Sanchez.

Pat did everything he could to convince people he had not changed.  He is more divisive today than he was four years ago when the people of Brownsville made it clear they were tired of his antics.

He was seen as the only viable choice to Tony, but made it impossible for people to get behind him, because he refused to change.

Pat Ahumada through his antics gave us Tony Martinez the first time.  Pat Ahumada through his decision to enter the race insured Tony Martinez would win again.  Hopefully Brownsville will never forget how Pat Ahumada forced Tony Martinez on Brownsville not once, but twice.

"Dear Friends and Supporters::

To those of you who have decided on who to support for the upcoming runoff race for Mayor between Tony Martinez and Pat Ahumada, I applaud and RESPECT your decision and I hope you can respect mine. Though I Question the purchase of Casa Nylon, United Brownsville and the lack of transparency from Tony, I feel Brownsville is about to experience an economic Boom and we don't need a divisive and uncooperative person like Pat as our Mayor, NO ONE on t...he commission could get along with him when he was Mayor and it will be the same if he gets elected. We have a bright new Commissioner in Cesar de Leon and I feel he brings transparency and common sense to this new Commission, besides I think this Commission would rather deal with Tony than Pat. For those of you who haven't made up your minds on who to vote for, I ask you to please vote for Tony Martinez as Mayor. Since his son died recently, I believe he's a changed man, lets give him another chance, we gave Pat two chances and he failed both times. Thank you and God Bless you.........

William A. Garza"

Endorsements mean nothing. Either way, Pat had no chance in this election. He is the one to blame for having Tony Martinez as Mayor...not the voters. If he would not be such an embarrassment to the city, Tony would not have gotten elected, but we know Pat and he will be the same obnoxious ass he has always been.

Well I agree that it will not mean people vote for Tony, but I think it is enough to keep a lot of his supporters from voting for Pat - which is the bigger issue.

I have had people who are at Pat's meeting tell me they are embarrassed to be there. They have been told to dump him because he is costing them political influence.

One has told me they are going to simply not vote. They remain in communication with Pat just so they do not come across as abandoning him.

Because of a disdain for Tony many people ran to Pat in hopes he would be a different person - what they saw was a person who was worse.

This is going to be a bloodbath for Pat, and yet he will run again in 4 years

Brownsville about to experience an economic Boom, this Garza guy doesn't know what he talking about, the whole USA is about to go into the worst recession on its history.

Ah yes, the Republicans are already blaming Obama for the worse recession in history before it even happens so that can tell the voters the economic recovery never happened - the stock market has more than doubled - people with retirement accounts like me are sitting pretty. I am slowly moving some into low risk bonds - but most is staying put.

So the construction jobs for Tenaska and Space X will do nothing for our economy. I am not counting on LNG - I think the people will stop it.

You Republicans cannot help but looking like clowns.

You are getting the people ready to blame Obama for a recession if the Republicans take control and mess things up again.

Is not OBAMA the president? The leader of this country? Who the hell do you want to blame then?

Inasmuch unemployment is well done - which was heading for double ditches when he took office, and the stock market is more than double when he took over, exactly what is it we are blaming Obama for?

You claim is a farce. Clinton left us with a budget surplus and paying down the debt. Bush gave us record deficits, a major recession and such as with his father a collapse of the financial markets and institutions.

Obama such as Clinton cleaned up the Bush mess, and for the depression we all know is coming if a Republican wins in 2016, you are already blaming Obama even though he will not be in office.

Who do you think you are fooling besides yourself?

William garza is an imbecile.
He got 700 votes and is bitter because Pat beat him. He is delusional and does not understand that people do not like him, which is why he has lost so many times before. His political career is over and has made a bigger fool out of himself. Supporting the guy he was against and was the whole reason why he ran...that is just ridiculous...grow up William!

Your argument does not hold water. Garza also ran against Pat Ahumada not just Tony. He would have been better off to just remain silent. But he wants to be part of the city government so he endorses the person everyone knows will win so he can go to Tony and ask for an appointment or something.

They all ran against Tony and each other. The idea they did not run against one another in addition to Tony simply does not hold water.

I will not allow for comments on Garza's private life. But I do not disagree with you. My comment is Garza's mindset - I did not say Tony would offer him anything. I think we both agree Tony will just ignore him
