THERE IS NOTHING MORE REPREHENSIBLE THAN USING MONEY FOR VETERANS TO ADVANCE THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, OR THE TRASHING OF A VETERAN BECAUSE YOU OPPOSED A WAR

Every veteran who has an opinion on service, has earned that opinion.  While we may disagree on matters, no veteran should be attacked for their opinion.  This is not to say we cannot point out a contrary opinion.

TEXAS GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT NOT HAPPY ENOUGH STEALING FROM SOME OF THE POOREST OF THE POOR IN SOUTH TEXAS, NOW MOCKS VETERANS BY DEMANDING PRESIDENT OBAMA SUBSIDIZE THE U.T. HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER

The UTRGV medical school will not become a reality without a county hospital.  Hidalgo county realizing Cameron and Hidalgo county would never be able to work together for one hospital, went it alone and lost on election day.

Without an anchor hospital as part of the medical school, there is no medical school.

THE REPUBLICAN CON JOB BY ABBOTT AND COMPANY

Governor Abbott claims there is bipartisan support for a VA hospital in the LRGV.  He plays politics by claiming it is up to President Obama - no my dear friends - it is up to the Republicans in Congress who have refused to fund the hospital or properly fund the VA clinic in Harlingen.  Governor Abbott lies because he has no conscience, and wants the federal taxpayers to subsidize the new UT medical school in the LRGV.

I would love for Governor Abbott to produce the name of one veteran who drove 200 miles for emergency care.  If they did it means there was no hospital anywhere for 200 miles. We are under the Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare System.  This includes clinics in Laredo, McAllen, Harlingen and Corpus Christi.

Throughout the System the VA has contracted with various hospitals to provide for emergency healthcare.  This is a fact with Governor Abbott ignores so as to justify his attempted theft of money which should be going to veterans and not U.T.

For example, when I woke up in the middle of the night in pain due to my gallbladder, I was taken to the local designated hospital for emergency care, Valley Baptist, and was attended to at no cost.  So bottom line is Governor Abbott is a liar.

Under this program, if you live more than 40 miles [not 200 as claimed by the liar Governor Abbott] from a VA facility, you can call a number and they will make an appointment for you with a non-VA doctor closer to your home.  This is fact Mr. Abbott.

U.T. HEALTH CARE SYSTEM DEMANDS FEDERAL SUBSIDIES AT COST TO VETERANS

This is really what it is about.  Do you know what my last CT scan said?  I needed my non-existent gallbladder out - because it was read by an unsupervised doctor in training at the VA hospital in San Antonio,  How is that beneficial to veterans Mr. Abbott?

When I first moved here an unsupervised doctor in training called me to SA to schedule cancer surgery for colon cancer.  When I got there she said she could not schedule it because the cancer biopsy had to be verified by their pathologist.  Although no one asked that I go to Valley Baptist to retrieve the sample, I was blamed for not bringing it.

Fortunately I know more about medicine than the attendings at VA hospitals who work for the university system.  I immediately called my gastroenterologist in Dallas and he called the Chief in SA and gave him one good talking to.  You see the doctor in training did not know the difference between cancer in a polyp and in the colon wall. This is why I am scoped every three years - to prevented it from spreading to the colon wall.

Do you know where the money comes from to train all of these really bad doctors?- from the Veteran Administration budget. Money which is suppose to be used for veterans, is used to subsidize the state medical schools training programs.

GOVERNOR ABBOTT THE TRUE ANTI BIG GOVERNMENT REPUBLICAN EXCEPT WHEN HE WANTS VETERAN FEDERAL FUNDS TO PAY FOR A TEXAS MEDICAL SCHOOL

ZAID JILANI - ASSHOLE FIRST CLASS

I have not seen the movie "Sniper."  I believe it has been well over a year since I have been to the movies.  But on this film I have no desire to see it.  I cannot comment first hand on the film.  But I can tell you what a battalion level aid station medic had to say about the movie.  He did two tours in Iraq running the medical station at battalion level.

Daily Beast Review

Below is the best review of critics I have ever read

"People on the left go back and forth with those on the right about the movie’s merits. Is it pro-war? Is it anti-war? And while a platoon of professional essayists, film aficionados and all around ‘I’m smarter-than-you’ folks attack one another’s opinions, there seem to be a couple items that have been forgotten along the side of the long road we’ve traveled for 15 years—15 years!—in Iraq and Afghanistan."

WHAT THE MEDIC TOLD ME

And for the record for all the know everything people who love to say why are we not doing anything in Mexico or elsewhere - let me say - learn to live in reality and facts.  Our special forces, Navy Seals etc - have served in countries you have never heard of.  They have died in countries you have never heard of.  Leaders are not in the habit of going on TV and asking the U.S. to send in a team of snipers to take out a cartel leader, or terrorist - this is all handled behind closed doors.  And when one of our soldiers gets killed, the family is simply told they died in training somewhere.  This is not part of our foreign policy we publish for idiots to critique.

I have discussed in the past his two tours in Iraq.  He is nowhere healed and probably never will be healed.  In the past he limited his discussion to the number of wounded children who were brought into the battalion aid station.  This past weekend I asked him if he saw the film "Sniper."  He immediately teared up.

I told him about the following which appeared in the Daily Beast.

"A friend of mine who worked on American Sniper for months and attended several screenings in places as different as Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City and Washington D.C. had an interesting observation that mutes some of the ideological ‘wars’ that have consumed multiple critics conducting operations from the safety of their laptops and iPhones.

It revolved around the scene where Chris Kyle sights, shoots and kills the major-league caliber Iraqi sniper from a distance of more than a mile away. In a sand storm.

At a screening in L.A. and New York, the crowd cheered. In Dallas there was no cheering. And when the film was screened at one site in Washington there was only a heavy silence.

Where was that location? Walter Reed National Medical Center, where the wounded, the limbless, the brain damaged are treated for injuries that linger forever and are largely forgotten by a country and a culture where more attention is paid to deflated footballs than the needs and cost of caring for men and women who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan."

The medic told me he saw nothing in the film which merited cheering.

He said it was very real.  He said he nearly lost it during one scene at an aid station.  Everything came back and hit him all at once.

Unlike this worthless punk Zaid Jilani, this medic was there - he got the film.  Kyle was merely a vehicle for telling the story of all soldiers.  Jilani's pathetic attempt to recast the story as a biography of Kyle so as to justify his trashing of the film only proves one thing - like assholes - we all have one.

I will go with the opinion of someone who oversaw a battalion aid station as a medic during two tours of Iraq before I go with the opinion of a faux liberal who probably does not even understand the concept of sacrifice.

Soldiers serving in combat do not get the luxury of debating orders.  Their job is to execute on the orders.  And thank god for that.

If there is only one thing you take from Zaid Jilani's BS review it should be his claim the decision by the U.S. to go into Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.  While many Americans rightfully believe President Bush used 9/11, as an excuse to go into Iraq, nonetheless without 9/11 we would not have gone into Iraq at that time.  So what we know for sure is, Zaid is so taken with his own ego he believes he can just outright lie as to why the American people supported the initial Iraq war effort.  No Zaid, we are not as stupid as you.

A SIDE NOTE:

I do not know if those with the documents will ever tell the truth, but they exist.  The Bush Administration knew about the attack on 9/11 in advance.  Calls to the White House to put the jets in the air to stop the planes were ignored.  How far up the chain of command the request went, I do not know.  But there are people who have the proof - but fear of arrest and loss of their retirement - keep them silent.  Hopefully someday one of their children will produce the documentation so the world will finally know just how criminal the Bush/Cheney administration really was.
