VALLEY WWII VETERANS HEAD TO DC

Click on Facebook for pictures

I am being told they received a very nice send off at the Harlingen Airport.  A very excited veteran called me from the plane and asked that I post a big thank you.

From their Web Page

"Honoring Our Veterans

Our Mission

Honor Flight Rio Grande Valley transports World War II Veterans or terminally ill Veterans of any war to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Through the efforts of our volunteers and the generous donations of our supporters like you, we can make their flights possible. Let’s honor our "Greatest Generation" that answered the call to service when the World needed them.

Currently, top priorities are given to WWII Veterans and/or terminally ill veterans of any war. that live in the following counties: Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy.  Naturally and depending on the amount of applications we will then accept Korean War Veterans then Vietnam Veterans, etc.

According to recent Department of Veterans Affairs' statistics, approximately 500 to 600 World War II veterans die each day.  Honor Flight RGV will continue to recruit, fundraise and transport our community WWII Veterans to Washington, D.C. to see THEIR Memorial at no cost to the Veteran.
Your tax deductible donation can help sponsor a Veteran or an entire flight! Any donation amount can help us reach our goal to bring our heroes to visit the memorials to honor their service and sacrifices.  These men and women deserve the chance to visit and reflect at their memorials, and with your help, we can make it possible.

Rio Grande Valley is part of a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; all donation amounts are tax deductible. All funding goes towards support of flights to Washington, D.C.
