For years I only eat asparagus when I eat out. Tonight I took my chances of cooking it for dinner. The easiest vegetable in the world to cook. I chopped off about an inch from the stem, washed, and then put in a large pan with just a bit of olive oil. Just enough to get the asparagus wet. About every three minutes I turned it and in 15 minutes it was done. I put no seasoning. I tried eating it two ways. Tonight was spaghetti with meat sauce. So half of my asparagus I put a bit of Parmesan cheese on and the other half I did not. Both were awesome.

Now if you have never had asparagus in the past, just be aware there is a side effect.  Your urine smells real bad, which is why it should never be served at a big function.  The men's room can get real bad in terms of the smell.

I love asparagus and it is really good for you. Although interestingly enough only about 40 to 50 percent of those that consume the green vegetable that is part of the lily family have the pungent smelling urine, also not everyone can smell it for some reason. So I say have no fear serve away, half of the people will not experience the smelly urine and the other half may not smell it at all.
