I was checking all the web pages for my Sunday night post of upcoming fundraisers and found this on Alex Dominguez's page.  Yes, Alex, if we were raised a Buddhist, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, and any number of a 1000 other religions we would not be as qualified.  This is the type bullshit campaign ad I expect from the radical right Republicans.
And for the record, there is nothing wrong with being a Christian - the issue is how he insults non-Christians with the implication of his statement.  Like I have said many times, had I been Catholic I would have become a Jesuit priest.  A Jesuit would never insult non-Christians.
He has now officially offended the Catholic Church, the gay community, women, all non-Christians, and now the left.  Who's next, men with hair - I can say that given I basically have no head hair.
The funny thing about this Republicanesque ad is, hey Alex it was a Republican who discovered your campaign ethics violations - it may shock you when a Republican with money announces.  You are so obsessed with Ernie, you are not even paying attention to your back.
A Bible Lesson for you Alex - Book of Matthew - Chapter 6

Translation - you do not wear your faith on your sleeve.  You might take the time to learn the actual words of Joshua, aka Jesus

Meh. Not your best effort. It's like your heart is not in it anymore.

Please, you think people do not see through your commment?

This is simple - no reason make it complex

The words of Joshua on the issue are clear

You're missing the point about what Jesus was saying in Matthew 6. Dominguez is not trumpeting his deeds for men to see. Secondly, God wants us to be an example and live with our faith on our sleeve. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:33 "But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. I am glad Dominguez is proclaiming he is a Christian. I hope that you will grow beyond your anger and read God's word daily. It will change your life.

First of all quoting the old Testament as what Joshua believes shows how little you know.

Second, nothing in Deuteronomy remotely suggests to wear your faith on your sleeve.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

New International Version (NIV)

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

The point in Matthew is to live the message and stop showing off by proclaiming in public.

Nothing I said could remotely be interpreted to mean I am saying anyone should deny Joshua.

Hate is making things up to make a point - there is no anger here.

My issue is respect for all of Gods children and to not make out because I am a student of Joshua that I am somehow better or more qualified than a Muslim for example.

Further, Democrats are strong advocates of secularism - if he wants to play look at me I'm a Christian he should consider the Republican Party.

Joshua embraced everyone - my point was exactly what Joshua preached. You call than anger.

Joshua released his gentiles from the laws of the old testament which is why we do not follow Deuteronomy 14 for example

"3 Do not eat any detestable thing. 4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep.[a] 6 You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud. 7 However, of those that chew the cud or that have a divided hoof you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the hyrax. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a divided hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you. 8 The pig is also unclean; although it has a divided hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses."

Are you one of those you follow the rules or quote them when it suits you.

When you quote Deuteronomy your profess support for Sharia law/

"If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant, 3 and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky, 4 and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, 5 take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death."

I an go on and on - first Deuteronomy has nothing to do with Joshua - second it contains key parts of Sharia law, Joshua released us from these laws.

So Basically - you are one of these selective quotes in the Bible when it suits your needs.

Joshua's message was about a person's acts not words - does a Christian remain silent when his campaign manager attacks a nun? According to Zeke and Alex the two grear Christians the answer is yes.

Instead of saying he is a Christian how about all of the charities he supports and for how long he has supported those charities.

How about he list all of his pro bono work as a lawyer

How about he list what he has ever done for a veteran.

I can go on and on

But this is specifics which prove his heart - and he has no list

The faith a person has in his or her heart is only for God to see and judge that person accordingly.

Public proclamations, while seemingly "faithful", are only meant for man and not God because men cannot see what is in another person's heart.

Remember how we are taught to go into one's room, close the door and pray to our Father in secret because it is for Him to see and judge that person. The man how shouts his faith in public is also seen by the Father and has been judged by his actions accordingly.

That is not to say one is cannot be true to one's faith publicly, but doing so simply for the sake of man to see is not always an accurate representation of one's heartfelt faith. It may also simply be a good election move.

I do not know this man and, as only a man, I cannot say what is truly in his heart but God does.

Thanks for a modern English translation of what Matthew says - and that is the point - God knows independent of your words - Matthew makes that clear.

I can train a monkey to say in sign language they are a Christian, but it does not make it so.

It is in your actions and how you live your life. And then God know

Why are you so hostile towards Christians? Our God is a God of love. Your hatred of Dominguez is blinding you to God's words. Insisting that Dominguez join the republicans for being a man of faith is wrong. Christ knows no party affiliations. We are all God's children. Let Jesus in to your heart, BWC. You'll be happier for it. God bless you.

BobbyWC said...

you're pure BS - I am not hostile towards Christians - I have published words and articles of the teachings of Joshua, aka Jesus than anyone else on the internet in Brownsville - maybe save a church blog.

I celebrate Joshua as my guiding light all of the time.

You cannot defend on the point that being a true Christian is in one's acts so you accuse me of hating Christians.

Joshua in case you did not know was Jewish

Joshua walked away from the old laws and preached a new message of tolerance. When you make the kind of statement Dominguez made you walk away from Joshua's teachings.

There is nothing wrong with being of a strong faith and a Democrat - but wearing it on sleeve is one of the distinctions between religious republicans and Democrats

Bunch of homophob, hypocrites. I am disappointed to see the same type of political axe sharpening go on in this Da's office. What is the difference between this and what Villalobos did? Threatening to arrest old ladies at 8 liners while you race horses is HYPOCRITICAL. Sharpening your political axe is HYPOCRITICAL and unethical and possibley unlawful. Withholding evidence is IMMORAL.
