My source is telling me JP Linda Salazar was called to the scene to confirm the death of Ray Marchan's 22 year old daughter.

I trust my source, but for now I am withholding the daughter's name and cause of death.

I am hoping against all hope this source is wrong.

But if this source is accurate I hope every elected and public official thinks about how their wrongful conduct can and will impact their children.

More as the story develops

For now, I am just sadden to think any child could die in such a way.  I really really hope my source is dead wrong on this one.

A second source has now confirmed the story.  I am beyond sadden

Spouses and children of elected and public officials do not ask for the attention.  This is why I am so adamant about keeping them out of the election.

Here is the deal - I will say it again - any candidate with an ad with any blogger or social media which brings into the election the spouse or children of any candidate will be the target of the BV.

Any candidate who thinks attacking Jessica Tetreau because she had to attend to a sick child is not worthy of elective office.  Art McDonald and Rosie Sheldon-Sotelo have both lost my vote.  They had a choice to pull their ads and they said no - their choice.  They have made it clear - they have no moral compass.

I will treat Art McDonald and Rosie Sheldon-Sotelo and any other candidate who  thinks this type nonsense is acceptable with the same contempt they seem to think others should  face because they are elected officials.  The people have a right to know their sense of morality.

All I can think is I wish I could have been there for this young lady and held her and told her to be strong.

Children do not deserve the pain brought on by their parent's public life.  Unfortunately in politics low life politicians will not care - they want the power and the impact their support for this nonsense has on children matters not to them - it matters to the BV and most of the BV's readers.

Every candidate willing to bring financial support to such conduct as bringing into the election the children and spouses of candidates or financial support for attacking mothers who are attending to their sick children will find themselves on the wrong side of the BV.

The people of Cameron county need to know these candidates have no moral compass and are unfit to hold public office.

There are consequences on the families of elected and public figures for the conduct of the elected and public figures.  We should not make it worse by bringing into the picture their spouses, children or private life.

Obviously Art McDonald and Rosie Sheldon-Sotelo do not agree with me.  If you vote for either of them you support these vulgarities against the spouses and children of elected and public officials.  If you vote for them you support attacking mothers for attending to their sick children.  If you vote for them, do the BV a favor and stop reading it.  You are not welcome here.

I have two other stories I wanted to post for Wednesday, but I've decided I want my readers to consider this post all day.  If you do not get it, then you have no moral compass.  If we can get just a handful of politicians to change their attitudes towards public office and campaign tactics, then this young lady will have made Brownsville and Cameron county just a little better place.

How sad, unbelievably sad.

Your comment is rejected because I do not promote nonsense or other blogs - but here is the sum total of your argument - it would be okay for Art McDonald to advertise in a neo-nazi magazine so long as he is not quoted as supporting their views. When you support a business financially you support their business practices - your argument is 100% without merit

And trust me I will not miss you reading the BV - I never write for readers I write for substance - so in the end my readership matters not to me - if I allow readers to guide me then I will be forced to write nonsense to please the audience instead of what needs to be said.

I know enough to know the overwhelming majority of my readers love the fact no one influences me and readers will never force me to change my views

You got that right Bobby WC!

To the two trying to defend the vulgarities instead of focusing in on this tragedy, I will not all the BV to be used for such.,

Today is a reflection day - about this young lady

This entire scenario is terrible. God bless everyone in the Marchan and Graham family. May they have the strength and courage to move forward. BWC is right, nobody realizes the far reaching effects of being in the public eye or the potential ramifications of public scrutiny and shame. In the end, we are all people and we all hurt sometimes.

Thanks for the info - I will not post per your request

Art is a wonderful thing. I was fortunate enough to grow up in NY and go see many art shows which travelled the world. The Met is a magnificient museum. During the art shows you would get educated in how to view art for its symbolism.

In children we have hope and innosence - but cruilty can bring them despear. Maplethorpe in many of his photographs was really quite effective at contrasting the innosence with the despear - unfortunately so many simple minded people could not see it and the message was lost.

Yes, even I was offended by some of Maplethorpe's works - but I understood them - he was an artist on the human condition.

This child needlessly suffered endless cruilty - but at least she is at peace now and no one can inflict any more cruilty on her.

Whatever the circumstances are, yet another tragedy involving our precious children. May the Heavenly Father, our Blessed Mother and all the Angels and Saints surround this family and lift them up during this difficult time. Amen

I have a great deal of disdain for the type of reporting (paid indiscriminate attacks) JM and his blog adhere themselves to. However, I do feel that you may have gotten a little to personally involved in someone paying for an ad (as much as I DO NOT like it) on the RR. I feel the attack on Judge Mcdonald is an unfounded one unless he has done something other than trying to pay for advertisements wherever he feels people will pay attention. As far as I know he has been a very fair judge over many years with very little drama by Cameron County standards. If I'm correct he is friends with the Marchan family and would do nothing to disrespect them. I happen to be a remote acquaintance of the Marchan family and with the exception of getting sucked into Villalobos' crime web, I do believe he was a genuinely kind and nice guy.
What happened to his daughter is nothing short of a tragedy! I respectfully disagree with you attacking 2 candidates that are running ads on RR. Condemn them all or do nothing. By condemning them all it comes across as a personal vendetta against Montoya. As much as I despise the "bola de bandidos" he surrounds himself with we all have mutual friends in this this small community.

I would have preferred you put this under the rejected comments post - I really wanted this reserved for the tragedy - but you raised some important points so I am allowing for it.

You missed the point - Judge McDonald can get readers to see his ad in smut magazines - would you find that acceptable?

What you are saying is, so long as he has people seeing his ad, then it is okay for him to place it any where regardless of the content of the magazine or blog.

No, it is not - by financially supporting the garbage published he makes himself party to it

It does not matter who he knows - he is keeping in business the vulgarities

You find that acceptable - which is 100% your right

The overwhelming majority of my readers had no problem with my post - they get it - you do not

It is not what kind of Judge McDonald is - it is that he does not see by financially supporting this nonsense he is encouraging it

and this nonsense is huring innocent people

you and Judge McDonald do not seem to see the problem - fine - but my readers do and they will make note of it at the polls.

What is sad is, the mere mention of the name Solis should be enough for people to not vote for Robles - but Judge McDonald has now given Robles an issue which will resonate with people

I got off topic. First and foremost my sincerect condolences go out to the Marchan family.
Thanks Bobby for letting my comment through without rejection. We have agreed to disagree in the past and hope we can continue to have open conversation in the future. I do believe your heart is in the right place when it comes to the lower RGV. I commend you for your tireless and often thankless pursuit to improve our County.

Also tomorrow I will place McDonald and Robles on the Campaign page - if they have web pages they will be included - cost to them - zero - and thousands of people will see it - again - cost zero - financial benefit to me zero

They will both get any and all campaign events posted for free

God Bless the Marchan Family. May the Good Lord have this Beautiful Young Lady's Soul In His Kingdom. She is a Child of God and worthy of His Mercy.

May she rest in peace. My prayers are with the Marchan family tonight. It's so painful to know that she was in such a dark and painful place and she felt that she did not have anyone to help her see the light.

No sir, I'm with you in principal on anyone running an ad over there thus enabling the "nutcracker". I personally feel it was a bad PR move. But...this is what happens when candidates running for office or their PR/managers buddy up with the dark side and get desperate to get their name out. RR still has an already elected official paying for an ad on his site. Thus, the buying silence and keeping an dirt or negative comments off his site. I wouldn't want my ad near his if I was running for dog catcher.
