TIME TO HIT BOCA CHICA

What a magnificent morning. For me there is no comparison between Boca Chica and SPI - Boca Chica is raw and real. It is where the family can spread out, fish, body surf, cook, and just have an overall good time. SPI has the people packed in like sardines. When I ask people who prefer SPI over Boca Chica the answer is always the same, "when I am done on the beach I want to go for a meal and beer." Well that is true - if you want a meal and beer on Boca Chica you have to make it yourself. But that is the difference - some of us get the joy of sleeping on beach, the smell of bacon mixing with the sea air at sunrise, or flipping hamburgers for lunch. Some people need a hotel bed, and service. But in the end SPI will never be nature as intended. Boca Chica is raw and real. It is the best beach in south, Texas.

While they freeze up north, we in Brownsville are thinking about what will go on the grill today. Some will head to the beach and cook on the beach. I will tell you there is nothing like fresh caught whitings, cleaned, stuffed with a garlic clove, wrapped in foil and then thrown on the grill. Try and get that on SPI. If you add a fresh plantain (yellow/black) wrapped in foil and left on the grill for a while, you will have a treat.

So forget all of the nonsense for one day and just go to Boca Chica and have fun.  Trust me, everyone in Chicago, NY, DC, Philly and on and on, are looking at Boca Chica just about now and saying -  "If only we were so lucky."

TIME TO CELEBRATE  BROWNSVILLE FOR ITS BEAUTY - WE ARE MORE THAN OUR FAILED POLITICIANS

I will take the poor family anywhere in Brownsville which has found happiness and blessings in what they have over the miserable person who cannot be happy no matter how much they have.  You cannot see true beauty until you see God's beauty as opposed to the temporal beauty defined by those who simply have no sense of self worth.
