IT IS NOT ABOUT ZAMORA GETTING THE JOB, IT IS ABOUT A COMPADRE SYSTEM WHICH SAYS TO QUALIFIED PEOPLE - YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN CAMERON COUNTY OR BROWNSVILLE

I am working on a story along these same lines concerning Ben Neece and Mark Sossi - it is all the same - compadre system.

Juan Montoya owns this story - for once his sources were actually credible - for that I say hats off.  But then he diminishes himself by going after Melissa Zamora for responding to an email during a time she was allegedly working for DA Saenz.  I guess no one in Saenz's office gets a break - hey  Juan - are you saying that Zeke Silva has never once been on the phone with you from a county phone while he is to be working for Saenz - I believe the phone records say otherwise.

For  reasons I do not know - Montoya has a wild hare (I mean hare) up his arse for Melissa - I guess it is true when she refuses the unwanted advances of former failed journalists (yes journalists)  they feel compelled to trash her at every turn.    There is nothing more pathetic than a rebuffed misogynist eunuch.

But here is my issue on this one - look, everyone has gotten a job with inside inside help at some point - it is officially called networking.

What bothers me is this county commission intentionally wasted the time of more qualified candidates as part of a farce.  This type conduct diminishes the reputation of the community.  Why would anyone who is highly qualified want to have anything to do with Cameron county or Brownsville when jobs go to compadres and nearly all contracts are rigged?

Zamora's appointment is a reflection of the endless corruption which governs Cameron county and Brownsville.

What really boggles my mind is just how stupid Ernie Hernandez really is.  He knows he is a target of an FBI investigation into the hiring of his brother-in-law.  He knows the IRS is all over him.  One would think he would change how he does business for just a while. The Zamora hiring only reaffirms for the FBI their belief that Ernie Hernandez is less then honest when it comes to the hiring practices in Cameron county.  It is sad because it seems to me no matter how well Erin Garcia does as a JP, she will always be judged as Ernie's daughter.

Ernie - do you really think that it is fair that your daughter may never be judged on the merits of her hard work because of your endless game playing?  I for one believe Erin will work hard to bring integrity to the judicial process.  In my personal conversations with her, I am confident she understands it is not about the result but the integrity of the process.  I hate the fact she is being judged by her father.

How will Cameron county or Brownsville ever grow when outsiders know hiring practices and  contracts are all rigged?

Did the Commissioners do something illegal by hiring Horacio Zamora? If they did, please tell us what they did.

It is not about illegal - it is about rigging the process thereby discouraging the best from wanting to even come to Cameron county or Brownsville

It is not abouy legal or illegal - it is about the endless rigging of the process - no highly qualified people would even consider wasting their time apply in Brownsville or Cameron county - it is a waste of time - this is what holds Cameron County and Brownsville back.

Why anyone would invest in this community is beyond me

Does it take a highly qualified person to be a County Park Ranger? If so, is there a state legal document or book that describes the required qualifications for a County Park Ranger? It is funny that the gentleman was a County Constable but it takes a higher educational qualification to be a County Park Ranger. It would be hilarious if he ran for County Sheriff and won. Than we would have a County Sheriff that was highly criticized for not having the highly qualifications for County Park Ranger as posted for such job by the County Commissioners. What I know about Mr. Zamora is that he has a world experience in law enforcement.

do you think that any of the qualified candidates that were passed up have any grounds for legal action?

An Anglo might if he/she met the original qualifications before they were changed to insure Zamora got the job

I have been trying to understand the point of view of the commissioners who voted for this but I can't get my head that far up my ass. They cheated everyone in the county,
