BROWNSVILLE MAY
FINALLY HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS

The Herald is reporting that the TSC Trustees have stopped their nonsense and is now negotiating with UT over land and buildings.  If the TSC Trustees do their job UTB will see a vast increase in UT funding - which will mean more jobs for Brownsville.  One can only hope the TSC Trustees see the importance of cutting a fair deal with UT.  The Brownsville part of the new UT campus will still be a satellite of the main campus, but at least it will be a free standing institution  tied to UT.

UT screwed the city and its taxpayers. You expect UT to change.

No, Juliet Garcia screwed the city - if we do not negotiate we get nothing - if we negotiate we may get a good deal which helps the TSC students

Come on, Mr. Kiko Rendon, we are counting on you to do things right for Brownsville. We need to keep a UT campus here in Brownsville. Please do your best to make this happen for our students. God Bless and Christ guide you.

Do you believe everything you read in the Herald?

I believe some of what I read in the Herald - also I spoke with a trustee and was told TSC is looking at selling land and buildings if the deal is fair - so I have every reason to believe the story. The key is fair - maybe they will not reach a deal - if they do not they will be voted out of office - on this one they will lose the support of the people - the people see an opportunity to pay down the bonds -

Good news, it is all about planning for the future and ensuring that our community can provide quality affordable and accessible higher education for our children. They are our future.

Bobby, please let us know which of the trustees told you this great information. Sounds too good to be true

I do not disclose sources by name - also just because there are negotiations does not mean there will be a deal - I am the first to insist on a fair deal or nothing
