DON DELEON FILES BALLOT ACCESS LAWSUIT

Below is the lawsuit.

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/127045240/DEleon

I do not care who you are, I will support your efforts for ballot access.  The more the better.   The primary case he cites, In Re: Robert Francis is on point.  It is not disputed his petitions were defective in that they did not say the 34th Congressional District.  But the Texas Supreme Court has held that the candidate must be provided an opportunity to cure.  The SOS appears to not have provided him the opportunity to cure.

Of note, Texas Supreme Court Justice Nathan Hecht had the same problem, and the Republican Party provided him an opportunity to cure.  Even locally, when Yolanda Begum did not properly request her recount, rather than deny it, Jared Hockema provided her an opportunity to cure.

This is not an endorsement of Don DeLeon - it is an endorsement for ballot access.  Now to be honest, since I will never vote for Filemon Vela, or a Republican, come November Don's name may be the only option.

What's the ballot deadline?

I cannot provide you a date certain -

I was told the final certification date is September 7 which is also the first day to apply for a mail ballot.

Federal law mandates mail ballots be sent to military personnel 45 days before the election. It seems to me that by September 7 the ballots need to be going to the printers - but I cannot give you a date certain

Monday seems to be the deadline for applying to put your name on the ballot for BISD

Boy you are wrong on those deadlines. You really aren't that smart as u claim to be.

You say I am wrong - so what is the deadline for mailing military ballots - also what is the date for requesting mail ballots and what is the date for gettiing on the ballot for BISD. Those are the dates - now give us the correct ones and your source. I can only rely on the calender provided by the SOS

Also my first words were "I cannot give you a date certain." For some who can read English taht means I am not holding to any dates I give. I used words like seems - mean could be could not be.

But it seems you are more interested in creating distractions than presentations of facts.
