SQUALOR BEST DESCRIBES CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTS

UPDATE:

ARMANDO VILLALOBOS

I am going to add to this post what I learned about Armando Villalobos, rather than wait for tomorrow.

$5,000.00   5/10/10   Marc Rosenthal (Limas case) - clearly by this time the FBI investigation was well under way.  We also see this level of donation from Rene Oliviera, and Noe Garza.

Why would an out of county lawyer with no criminal case docket donate $5,000 to our DA?  When you consider this along with Rosenthal and his firm also donating to Sheriff Lucio while there was an ongoing FBI investigation it is fair to say the FBI did not trust either Villalobos or Lucio.  They did not share knowledge of the ongoing criminal conduct at the Cameron County court house where both of these so called law enforcement officers work.  This revelation is a clear indictment of both Villalobos and Lucio.

Ah and yes, as always can be expected - the unethical tax collection firm of Linebarger donating $1,500.00 to our DA.

CARLOS MASSO CONTRIBUTORS

We now know the price to buy Montoya's silence, on Masso's relationship to Danennbaum.. On May 23, 2011, Carlos Masso paid Montoya $1,250.00. On June 3, 2011 Masso accepted a $500 from Fabian Limas, Jr. (appears to be former Judge Limas's nephew.) If this were one of the other candidates for DA Montoya would turn the donation into the biggest conspiracy in Cameron County. Masso got a $30,000 loan at an interest rate of 3.75% from IBC bank. It appears secured by a $30,000 CD. Could you imagine if McHale was not getting paid to remain silent on Masso what he would do if he learned a DA candidate got a $30,000 load from IBC. It is perfectly legal by the way. The other donations are routine lawyers donating to a DA in hopes of having influence.

OMAR LUCIO CONTRIBUTORS

His reports read like a whose who of the indicted parties in the Limas case. It also wreaks of influence peddling.

ARAMARK PAC

Aramark has the food service contract with the jail. Aramark complained when it was also denied control over the commissary contract. I guess they thought their donations would have gotten them greater consideration.

$1,500.00 10/29/10
$1,500.00 4/15/11 (wow Rick Zayas and Aramark both donate to Lucio on the same day.)

ZAYAS AND HERNANDEZ (Rick Zayas - commissary contract)

$800.00 4/15/11

It does not help Sheriff Lucio's reputation when vendors are donating this level of money to his campaign

ROSENTHAL AND WATSON

$500.00 5/5/10 From the firm
$500.00 3/27/11 From Lynn Watson (Days later Limas plead guilty - with an ongoing criminal investigation against this firm Lucio takes money from them - are we to believe the FBI never once met with Lucio - if they did not then that is an indictment of Lucio)

RAY MARCHAN (LIMAS CASE)

$400.00 5/10/10
$200.00 3/14/11

LINEBARGER Why would a tax collection firm donate to a sheriff?

$800.00 5/18/10
$500.00 3/30/11

RENE OLIVERA

$400.00 5/06/10
$500.00 3/10/11

CHARLIE ATKINSON

$400.00 3/18/11

JOE AND GREG LAMANTIA OF L. & F. DISTRIBUTORS

$1,500.00 5/3/10 Joe

$1,500.00 5/3/10 Greg

   $200.00 6/4/10 Joe

JOE CISNEROS (Sheriff)

Joe has no campaign finance reports because he only filed to run in August and the last report was due in July.

ARMANDO VILLALOBOS

Although he is not seeking reelection he is still required to file. It is a lot of pages - I will post on Armando on Wednesday.

Did Charlie Atkinson donate to Lucio? Or did Charlie Atkinson get a donation from Linebarger?

A charlie atkinson donated to Lucio

Lucio is required to list the occupation and address of the donor. That will make it clear if it was a Charlie Atkinson other than the Brownsville commissioner.

There was no address - in some cases the address for people is clearly a business but he does not list the business

What about an occupation? Are occupation and address missing from other contributors? Is there a pattern of missing information? If so, I think there is cause for an ethics complaint. He has submitted many finance reports in the past decade.

I see this problem all of the time with all candidates - this appears to be standard practice

Bobby, do you know who are the candidates running for DA?

I know the former JP who favored spanking children - Gus garza, is running as a Republican - I only know this because I saw a bumper sticker

EXCELLENT ARTICLE!!!!!!

IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY, "FOLLOW THE MONEY!"
Bobby please publish who has donated monies to Martinez and his administration. It gets interesting when you start connecting the DOTS and yet an angry/sadness over so much corruption.
