CONSEQUENCES - EVERY DISHONEST ACT LEADS TO CONSEQUENCES - UNFORTUNATELY THE INNOCENT ARE SOMETIMES PUNISHED

Numerous sources have told me the same story. Luci Longoria's son was hired to do a job in the food service area for which he was not the most qualified  candidate, as compared to other candidates. At the time of the hire Eddie Leandro used his mother Luci Longoria to get Hector Gonzales to hire him over more qualified candidates.    The order was given to Susan Fox.

This story when first given to me sounded like sour apples. In fact, Rick Zayas went out of his way to tell me that Eddie Leandro was doing an excellent job - and that is what was important.    So it kind of fed into my belief of sour apples.  In the private sector and public sector less qualified people get hired all of the time because of connections. This is not new. And quite frequently they turn out to be the best person for the job. I only have a problem with this to the extent Luci Longoria and Cata Presas-Garcia are always accusing other people of this conduct - you know glass houses and all.

BUT HERE IS THE REAL PROBLEM: Numerous sources over the months have told me Susan Fox was taking heat from the new BISD majority because she made it know that if Hector Gonzales sued BISD and she was asked to testify, she would testify that Hector Gonzales ordered her to hire Eddie Leandro even though he was not the most qualified candidate and that this was done at the insistence of his mother Luci Longoria.

CONSEQUENCES

We all now know that Susan Fox was attacked from day one since Presas-Garcia and Longoria turned BISD into Bedlam on the Border.

My question to Eddie Leandro - are you man enough to step up to the plate and resign from BISD while denouncing the conduct of Presas-Garcia and your mother, while defending Susan Fox, or will you just go on living knowing the consequences fell on the innocent so little Eddie Leandro could get a job at his mother's insistence?

All BISD knows the truth. I am certain people look at Eddie with contempt on daily basis. They know that anyone who crosses him will face the axe by Luci Longoria and Cata Presas-Garcia.

Consequence - will Eddie Leandro fess up and take his medicine or will he be a coward and allow Susan Fox and her friends to continue to face the consequences for him?  It is like the days of old when the king's son messed up and the servant boy took the beating.

Just recently, the nephew of Dr. Saavedra was hired at Porter High. With no UIL experience as per require her nephew Tony Saavedra was hire as the head girls basketball coach and a PE job open up at Porter.

I have no way of knowing if the above is true - I hesitated to publish it through - but I decide to publish it though because it allows me to make further comment on the general issue.

there has never been a time that BISD trustees did not use their position to get family and friends hired.

Elia Gonzalez remains with the COB because she is 100% reliable when it comes to hiring the "right people."

Do I like this - no - but to suggest that this is unique to this board is dishonest - this is how politics works - it is wrong - but certainly not knew

We can replace Saavedra tomorrow and I will bet the farm her replacement will be pushing for family members to get hired

My post today was not about this bad practice but about the consequences when innocent people pay the price for the practice - albeit a very common practice

The district made Tony go through 3 interviews
with different committees and he was always the
top applicant. Just ask the coaches at Porter
to confirm this.

I actually believe you - I get the sour apples issue - But I knew if I let the comment through I would get a counter - what all this this all really shows is how this is going to be an endless tit for tat on who got hired.

Like I said the hiring part does not bother me - i am sure Tony will work out fine - for me the UIL thing is sjust stupid - if you have the knowledge and skills that is what BISD should be looking for.

Thanks for adding another side to this

But also remember Saavedra's mouth pieces sought to destroy Cortez's wife although she too went through many interviews an got good reviews.

this is why in my post i do not see the issue of being hired - I see the issue as consequences

Here the consequence will be Tony always being looked upon in a negative light becaue C. Saavedra is such an evil person. Tony could deliver the team to nationals and the poster of the original comment will then say something like " yea anyone else would have gotten us to nationals sooner."

Again the bad person is not the one being punished - C. Saavesra, but Tony - consequnces.

People kust need to chill and see if Tony delivers - because in the end that is what matters.

Again people inside hiring has been going on at BISD since the day it was formed - this is standard partice in all government entities and even in the private sector

this idea that he went through interview and the coaches felt he was the best candidate is still not enough for me. You cannot tell me that the fact that Dr. Saavedra is on the board did not influence the committee - it did! People are afraid to stand up and go against the board or family members for fear of retaliation, etc. The bottom line is that having a family member on the board helped Tony in ways it didnt help other candidates, regardless of whether he was qualified or not. What are they going to after CHarlie Atkinson gets hired, "he was the most qualified and the commmittee agreed" - of course they did, they are intimiated but this board. Look at what happened to Ameel for speaking against their plan.

How about the one where Cata had a principal demoted for no reason. Just because she was Rick Zayas cousin. CAta does not care whose lives she ruins... She doesn't or hasn't helped the district in any way. BISD employees will rejoice in Nov 2012 when she is ousted.

@6:39; thanks for the comment - Ilike when people extend the conversation - this is the logical response - given everything we know about this Board does anyone doubt the entire committee feared for their jobs if they did not do the right thing.

In the end Tony could have been the best - but it does not matter because fear was the only thing in that room

All principals know if you go against this board you will pay. And pay dearly. If you stand up for what is right.... For THEIR policies that they approve, and a principal enforces those policies....they will have CPG to deal with. She doesn't want policies enforced, she wants votes.... She could care less about administrators, teachers, staff, or students. She's plain evil.

Tony Saavedra was not the best. Porter was told to hire Tony Saavedra. How does someone qualify with no experience? Let’s not be stupid! It was an in house deal and that is the bottom line. Remember, Dr. Atkinson hired Dr. Saavedra two times. It is pay back to be the Area Superintendent for Human Resources. During the election 2010, Sylvia gives money to Dr. Saavedra to win.

ALL of it is coming out....All of it...Trust me on this one..

Oops, "trust me" is a very familiar phrase used by the pres. of the school board. What is coming out, Cata? When? Do you not know that a lot has already come out and nobody does anything about it.

The Head Girls Basketball Coach at Porter High School is going to have a tough time of it, if they are interested in Winning any time soon.

Porter Girls basketball is not really doing well right now.

Good luck to whoever ends ups with the job.

nice post - regardless of who the coach is, we should always encourage the students to do their best and be there for them
