COMMISSIONER TETREAU ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF DOMESTIC ABUSE

The Herald is now confirming the story. BPD is expected to issue a press release sometime today - as of this posting I cannot find it on their web page. Tetreau raises the question of why would she call the police is she was the aggressor? Fair question, but it would not be the first time the aggressor calls the police.

http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/news/commissioner-131092-kalifa-arrested.html

For me the bigger problem here is [1] Tetreau herself in not ending this very unhealthy relationship with her husband. Fault is not an issue here - you just end the relationship regardless of fault when it reaches this point of being unhealthy; [2] the BPD is also a very big part of the problem. Several years back the law was changed to allow the BPD to bring charges and the DA to prosecute even if the victim does not prefer charges on the alleged aggressor.

Both men and women are victims of domestic abuse. It is a very complex issue. But the Brownsville police department needs to learn to do its job and arrest whomever they believe to be the aggressor regardless of whether or not the victim wants to press charges. If Chief Garcia has a problem with the law he needs to find a different profession.

I have no idea who is in the right here - unlike everyone declaring her guilty I was not there. Since they are so certain of the facts and they seem to have been there maybe they need to post videos of the event. People need to learn to allow the system to work - because I can guarantee, everyone declaring her guilty merely out of hate for her personally, they will be the first to accuse the police of wrongfully arresting them when they are arrested.

I do not care one way of the other - but the aggressor needs to be punished in all domestic abuse cases. We also need to remember women can and do physically and emotionally abuse men. This crime is not gender specific.

For now if people truly care they will focus in on the problem of domestic abuse and the fact we have a police chief uninterested in enforcing Texas law so as to protect the alleged victims.

She needs to go bottom line. Resign new election.

Why does she not get the presumption of innocence? If she is found guilty I agree she should resign - but given the fact you were not there exactly how do you know she is guilty?

Comment rejected I'm not playing - When Atkinson was arrested I spoke to the issue of his diabetes and that I was concerned that he was hurting himself by drinking - I did not accuse him of being guilty - in fact I posted a comment that he did not appear drunk on the tape.

I agree the Herald is playing games - in teh case of Ahumada I went after the Herald for how they edited the tape and again urged the presumption of innocence.

But it is clear the Herald does have a double standard in how it is handling Jessica vs how it handled Atkinson and Ahumada

All three innocent until proven guilty or they plead guilty

The rule of law is real simple

sir u there???? how can i speak to you???

Several issues - I do not publish through comments by an alleged elected official - my rule is they must email me the comment and then I will post it - it is the only way to protect them

I will not post through allegations against teh chief of police unless you send me a police report to prove it - it will then be front and center

i am no supporter of Chief Garcia - he is more dead weight which needs to go - but this is my comment based on what I know not based on anony posts

If you want to talk to me just tell me not to post your comment and I will not post it

I am aware of the reports related to the chief - no one ever produced the police reports - without reports I have no proof

Why do people immediately assume the person is guilty? Have they considered the source?

BobbyWC said...

No they do not because ignorance is all they have - why did he leave out the police report which he clearly had stated that she also had scratches - it did not fit the story he wanted to tell

"People need to learn to allow the system to work - because I can guarantee, everyone declaring her guilty merely out of hate for her personally, they will be the first to accuse the police of wrongfully arresting them when they are arrested."

This from a person that posted all the contributions to candidates and making them guilty by asociation to Abel Limas.....please Bobby.

Chief Garcia is dead weight,...i agree with you on that. Chief Garcia is already kissing up to Tony Martinez and rumor is he is making head way to becoming our new city manager. The chief has mastered the art of cover ups for the right people. Brownsville PD is investigating the Ernie Hernandez case in the county,...the one where his brother-in-law had someone take a test for him, and i will bet nothing comes out of that just like nothing will come of the
Tetreau situation. Way to go chief, keep up the bad work.

If you would learn to read English - which you obviously cannot - I made the point that the FBI apparently does not trust them - this does not make the guilty of anything - or they showed very bad judgment - but nothing in my words remotely suggests that I am saying they are guilty of anything with the Limas case

Commonsense says a law enforcement office does not take money from people who are under criminal investigation - to address this issue and rather than say they showed poor judgment I raised the question of whether or not the FBI shared the investigation with the two top law enforcement officers in Cameron county.

Villalobos and Lucio based on what I posted are guilty of no crime or even accused of any crime.

Learn to read English for the content.

Mchale(a pornographer) and Montoya(a drunk) will do anything for a quick buck and these pendejo politicians take care of them by providing protection for all their perverse behavior.
They (mchale and other educators) are always promoting drinking and pornography and most people seem to be ok with that because no one ever has a bad word for them.
As for Jessica----she needs to get away from that cult before they really damage her future.
Bobby son una bola de muertos de ambre de pata rajada que nunca han tenido nada y ahora se crean como los meros ricos. Presumidos y gosando con lo robado.

Muchas gracias y que Dios te bendiga siempre.

To be clear I think the word pornographer is incorrect - someone who promotes the smut is not the same as someone who makes it - there is clearly no evidence he has ever made pornography

Also Mchale has no artistic eye in writing or pictures - he confuses smut with art - maplethorpe although also accused of being a pornographer has deep political and social commentary in his art - hence it is art - smut for the sole purpose shock is not art - it is smut
