NO MAS, MASSO

Election season, it's never over in Brownsville.

Masso seems to want to run from his part in the Brownsville Navigation mess. Yea, not going to happen. I have 9 months to make this campaign stick - and it will.

" A third trip, that both Masso and Arambula made, was to meet with James Dannenbaum and Louis Jones of Dannenbaum Engineering and their attorneys.

“The purpose of the meeting was just to hear them out to see what they had to say. Nothing took place, other than they telling us their side of the story. A mediator was not there. We were not trying to negotiate anything. They wanted to be heard,” Masso said.
Masso, a Cameron County assistant district attorney, said another trip to Houston was to review BND’s evidence in the case.

“We went over 50 boxes of information,” Masso said."

Any relief in taxes from the port?

My view is, if we can sell the port and pay off its debt, we should do so - this will end the taxes

We should demand this as a campaign promise from anyone who runs

Lots of people seem to have gotten away with so much in this deal. I am astonished that when one of the commissioners called up Dannenbaum and said, more or less "what can I do to help you, I am your friend" nothing was made over it. If you had a business and one of your employees called up your competitor and said he wanted to help him would you think he had your best interest at heart? And if that competitor had already filed a lawsuit against you would that have an impact on your thinking? It didn't in Cameron County. I kept waiting for the announcement from the grand jury but it never came. Not a no bill not an indictment. Not even any evidence that it had even been looked at. That was the turning point for me in regards to the DA's office and it continues to inform my opinion regarding justice in Cameron County in this era. I say it is clear that there is a two tiered system of justice in the county. One for those with power and/or connections and one for the rest of us. And it seems to me that everyone on the board at that time that did not raise his voice against what was going on is complicit at some level and can not be trusted in public service. I'd enjoy being called for jury duty so I could offer my explanation as to why I didn't think I could serve as an impartial finder of fact in Cameron County.

really, because under "about" and "experience" you do not mention being on the BND - now you do post the article announcing your election to the BND

Thanks for pointing that out. I will fix it as soon as possible. I do have it on my push cards.
