TONY MARTINEZ

http://www.martinezformayor.com/

My readers know two things - I endorsed Tony Martinez and two I set out a rule that if you lie about your opponent I will not promote your campaign.  This is why Pat Almighty and Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo are not being profiled.  It is true Tony Martinez got the vote wrong on the Fly Frontera issue.  Pat Almighty and Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo both knew Tony got it wrong because of a lie posted to the Fly Frontera web page by Jim Gallagher.  To get the guaranteed $1.5 million he was seeking from the Brownsville taxpayers, Jim Gallagher lied.  A lie is something you say and know it is false - this is not the same as making a mistake because the person Pat Almighty and Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo want to give $1.5 million to, namely Jim Gallagher posted on the FF web page a lie which had as its intent to mislead the people.  If Pat Almighty and Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo had an ounce of integrity they would have denounced Jim Gallagher - but it is no great secret that both Pat Almighty and Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo intend to put Fly Frontera back on the agenda if elected.

I ask my readers to go to each web page and use your values to decide who will best serve Brownsville.  It is time you make a decision on your own - I have made mine.  I am certain my long time readers will use critical thinking skills to make the right decision which meets their values - not mine- although I would hope we share some significant values.  I can only hope that some combination of these three will be in the run-off.  In a final vote any of these three would bring a desperately needed new face to the city commission.

I like Tony. He is articulate, educated, and it seems he would put a good face on Brownsville. I still can't get over allegations that he is part of the Gilberto political machine though. the same machine that brought us Conrado Cantu and Abel Limas. That scares me. What do you know about his relationship to "the machine"?

Thank you for keeping us informed. This helps the citizens make well informed choices. We are fortunate to have BV. It is very difficult for alot of voters to know, what the candidates truly stand for with all the misinformation out there.

Tony Martinez doesn't need a machine....he is his own machine. But at least he can't be bought...he does have a record for being passionate about his purpose...and when he gets a good haircut he will look good on TV. He won't be swayed....and he will be articulate on TV representing Bville. AND he won't give out of towners who come to swindle us the time of day....

Just my opinion...

I am not sure what machine means here - there is zero evidence he has ever endorsed the use of politiqueras or has paid one- there is zero evidence that during his law practice he has been on the receiving end of a corrupt ruling by a judge - there is zero evidence he has ever made a penny on the compadre system

Tony has made his money in huge plaintiff's case which extend well beyond Brownsville - I know there are people who associate lawyers with bad - especially plaintiff's lawyers. these same people will be the first to demand representation when a defective product injures their child. Corporations are forces to insure the safety of their products because lawyers like Tony is willing to fight them adn keep your children safe.

Without the money of plaintiff's lawyers the democratic party would have died a long time ago

Plaintiff's lawyers have spent over 100 years filing lawsuits to enforce civil rights - without a plaintiff's lawyer school segregation would still be permissible.

If you think they are bad wait to see how you feel when these more than 100 anti-Latino laws filed by the Republicans start to impact your life - trust me if you look like a Latino ignorant people will justify their discrimination against you because in their mind if you look Latino you are illegal

It will be the lawyers who will fight to end that discrimination.

Tony actually walks the walk - through his efforts at the Guadelupe Middle school he has given the poorest of the poor a fight chance.

Eddie ala Haskell Camarillo is the one putting out these false claims - he knows his voting record is against the poorest of the poor - he voted to raise PUB rates and late fees on people who cannot pay their bills as it is - with this voting record he has no choice but to attack Tony based on ignorant thinking - the same ignorance thinking which allowed for "whites only" signs being posted above water fountains

Did Tony Martinez or any of his immediate family members have anything to do with getting Abel Limas elected, yes or no?

BobbyWC said...

every democrat helped Limas to get elected - are you really that stupid - just say you have no evidence and want to spread stupid rumors

Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada, who strongly supported a Fly Frontera deal, said Wednesday it wasn’t the BEDC report that killed Fly Frontera but rather politics — though he also asserted BEDC’s due diligence was incomplete. The mayor singled out Commissioner Edward Camarillo for pulling his support for the deal. Camarillo is one of four candidates hoping to unseat Ahumada in the Brownsville mayor’s race.
Camarillo PULLED HIS SUPPORT!

BobbyWC said...

he pulled his support until after the election - big difference than pulling his support for ever

BobbyWC, Analyze what you, other pundits and Ahumada are saying. The implication is that Camarillo caved in to political pressure, fear of litigation or the absolute terror of 10,000 BobbyWC pushcards being distributed.

That same fearful, cowering, reticent commissioner on becoming mayor suddenly grows a pair, speed dials Carlos Quintanilla and starts the whole mess again? WC, your not making a lick of sense.

I have respect for someone who voices his opinions and convictions openly..whether I agree or not..not lurks in the shadows because it may not be popular..great leaders speak their minds..before not after the fact.

BobbyWC said...

once elected what does he have to fear - he is in for four years - all camarillo did was cave until after the election - all he has to do is give Pan Am a chance to avoid a lawsuit - it makes complete sense

Ok. . you win with your Camarillo argument. I guess. But Martinez will prob be the next mayor, trouncing Ahumada in a run off. Tony needs to get up to speed. Misrepresenting the city commission vote on Fly Frontera shows he's not paying attention. Tony needs to concentrate. Sometimes a lawyer gets so accustomed to handling situations with glibness, that he doesn't do his homework. Tony, after early voting, pay the San Antonio firm for their services. Get personally involved. You have enough personal charisma and smarts to handle this without go-betweens.

Eh, out of the 5 candidates running, all I have seen are fancy posters, pictures of the candidates having fun at every bar in Brownsville, holding babies, having expensive dinners/fundraisers, and huge rallies. I have yet to hear WHY I should vote for them. They ALL talk a big talk but the talk doesn't match the walk. No numbers as to how the budget will be balanced (and without raising taxes?), what their stance was on this Frontera deal, NOTHING!
I have yet to see any substance, same ol' same ol' if you ask me. Maybe I should just crumple up some paper in a hat & pull from there? Maybe my chances would be better.

I basically agree with you - this is the essence of the post I am preparing, but it was interupted by my need to make homemade waffles

But Tony Martinez has been a huge voice against Fly Frontera

Ok, so we now know about Tony, heck, even Pat! What about the others? Here comes 5 de Mayo..instead of hitting a bar hit a blog instead with detailed outlines how they really plan to run this city, come up with figures, etc. Get off a fence & make a stand, or is it too late? I wonder. Time's a tickin'.
On another note, homemade waffles? Good for you. I usually stick an "eggo" in the toaster & call it a day.

BobbyWC said...

My waffles are shaped like Texas - I use a real maple syrup and then break to straigh eggs on top - Not the healthiest breakfast - but I do not do this often - I freeze the extra ones.

If the readers demand they put their position in writing in an email maybe we will learn something

Just saw your new post! Thanks for listening to us readers (and citizens of Brownsville) who deserve to be heard. HOPEFULLY they will ALL respond before ELECTION day. If not, it's either back to the crumpled paper, a roll of the dice or just an "eeny, meeny, miny, moe" y que Dios nos bendiga!
