Fly Pan American Airways

COULD ELECTION OF CAMARILLO, AHUMADA, ATKINSON OR LONGORIA KILL PAN AM EXPANSION

See BH Article

http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/news/pan-126159-louis-brownsville.html

I would suggest people keep this in mind while voting.  Bob Hedrick has every reason to be mad as hell.  I would not stay - I would look to Harlingen - It is clear to me Brownsville is incapable of growth.  The people of Brownsville will decide this on May 14, 2011.  If they elect Camarillo or Ahumada mayor the message will be clear - Pan Am should look elsewhere.  The same can be said of Atkinson and Longoria.  I hope Mr. Hedrick will interpret the unelection of Atkinson and Longoria as a message from the people that neither of these idiots speak for Brownsville.  I also hope that the run-off does not include Camarillo or Ahumada.  It will send a clear message to Pan Am - the people want you even though Camarillo and Ahumada do not.

The City of Brownsville stands to lose big time if they don't get behind Pan American Airways by using their vote for the good of the City of Brownsville and NOT for the current administration. Brownsville may never get another opportunity like this one. It's up to the people to do the right thing. There's not much time so the citizens of Brownsville need to band together and get the word out ASAP to all voters to make their vote count by supporting a bright future for Brownsville and making a major change at City Hall by voting the present administration out.

I will say with 100% certainty Camarillo will put Fly Frontera back on the agenda if elected - unlike Longoria, Aktinson, adn Ahumada this cowards has refused to admit his role in this mess.

Camarillo is a coward who cannot be trusted. His boy Rodrigo Moreno was in the picture with Quintanilla taken in October - according to Quintanilla Camarillo was talking to him in October -

The coward Camarillo not only brought us the Fly Frontera mess he help to give us the BISD mess but cooperating with Quintanilla

There must be accountability - it is up to the voters to get word out

Mr Bobby,
So I still haven't voted..still trying to sort out who's who in this race. We need a true leader who will stand up for his own beliefs. The majority have remained eerily silent. We need someone with experience, not only in business but in public speaking as well, someone articulate, bilingual, and who can talk to people from all social circles, in a manner in which we can all understand. (I say this because I saw a video in which some of the candidates were speaking & I think some of them need to improve not only in their political rhetoric, but their Spanish as well). Sorry. Remember folks, this leader will be representing our entire city.

There are a few candidates who own their own business. That is comforting to know that people know what it's like to start from the ground up, but are they successful at it?

Some have said that they plan to balance the budget WITHOUT raising taxes? How? That's a big statement. What about budget cuts? Where would they have to trim the fat?

They talk about creating jobs? How exactly will they do that? I saw that you asked them to send you their answers on a previous post a while back, did anyone ever respond?

All these issues come to mind & that is why it is so hard to figure out who I will be voting for. Thanks for all your efforts during this important time, helps to sort the ins from the outs!

I keep hearing that Quintanilla, the convicted racketeering felon, is close to Mayor candidate Edward C. Camarillo via his campaign manager Rodrigo Moreno - who became close to Quintanilla during recent BISD election in November. When Quintanilla spearheaded some attack ads and a PAC against certain BISD members, who Moreno was supposedly running campaigns against.

What is the connection between Edward Camarillo and this felon Quintanilla guy? Is that why Ed Camarillo never spoke out against Qintanilla's Fly Frontera deal? Even though the company's financial solvency was rated "abysmal" by the BEDC, and judged to be near bankruptcy at any moment? Why did Camarillo not speak out against risking $2,000,000 of our sales tax dollars on this company headed by a felon? Was his campaign manager advising against it? Why?

No candidate answered the questions - it is like I said they want the information controlled.

The most we can hope for is someone who can lead the city commission. the only candidate who is not divisive is Tony Martinez - among the top 3 - camarillo and Ahumada will continue the division.

I live in district 4 and will not be voting for anyone - I will also not be voting in the at large - in both these races there are sleeper candidates who will work with camarillo to bring back the Fly Frontera deal - I will not vote only to learn I voted for the wrong person.

As to not answering the questions - if they do not have time now to answer questions how will they have time once elected?

It was a $1.5 million guarantee which included $500,000 up front some of which was to be used to pay for hotel and food for Jim Gallagher and his employees.

But here is the real con - the money was to be paid to Public Charters and not a separate corporation known as Fly Frontera - this one issue forms a basis to fire Mark Sossi - no attorney in there right mind every would have approved this deal - you never allow for the comingling of funds between different operations. This was a con from square one and the incompetent Mark Sossi was right there along with Camarillo endorsing it

ONLY IN BROWNSVILLE!
Fly Frontera broo haa haa.."Calabazas"..BISD issuing checks that were returned for "insufficient funds"..STOP THE MADNESS already!!!

I think you are correct. Tony Martinez is a sucessful attorney and has donated a school to this community. He does not need the job to earn a living so he should be the lesser of the evils.

Well said. Good job Bobby. I'm happy we can see eye to eye on this one.

Tony, who very likely DOES have money, appears to be a very humble individual who knows the proper thing is to give back & has. I wonder if all the other candidates, who all come across as very successful businessmen, (especially while running for office) have given back to their community, schools, etc. as well?

Anonymous said...

I willing to bet that they have not. How they got there should be as important. Tony Martinez is probably the only one who has given back.

Tony Martinez gave his community the best possible gift when he donated a school. That is the best way to empower your community through an education.

Bobby whats the deal with Roman Perez? Who is this guy and what's his agenda, if any. I really think that most of the candidates on the ballot are money and power hungry and are running for personal gains and paying supporters with favors. Politics down here have gotten so bad and rotten that its all about "what's in it for me?" Just take a look at how many deals Dr. Escobedo has gotten for himself and his brother at the expense of the city and BISD. It never ends and our city keeps falling behind.

BobbyWC said...

I will address more in depth on Monday - I think it is more about getting rid of Longoria than any meaningful support for Roman - The thing about Roman is - he has proven he knows the city charter and knows how to use it - this puts him ahead of most people currently on the city commission - but more on Monday

Can you look into a comment made on Sunday's story about candidate spending....where it deals with Escobedo donating to Ahumada...and Esobedo getting a 200,000 contract on May 3rd. He seems to be in good with all the city higher ups. Can you check to see how much he has made off of the city? He gets all kinds of contracts all of the time. I wonder if there is anything illegal there; scratch my back and Ill scratch yours....Just wondering

It seems like a competition to see who is more qualified to serve themselves. The exception to this seems to be Tony Martinez.

Is the cheezmeh group a good watchdog group for local politics?

BobbyWC said...

cheezmeh is a con artist group run by a Quintanilla wannabe who censors and blocks anyone who challenges him.

If Cheezmeh is a con artist group, Bobby Wightman is a headcase with narcistic tendencies. You can't possibly be right about everything Bobby. The only reason you have a problem with Cheezmeh is because you want them to bow to you and see you as the ultimate authority.

While some may appreciate you, you need to learn to check your ego at the door. You're not all that. Cheezmeh has individuals who can go toe to toe with you, and your ego just can't handle it!

I am not sure but I may have deleted a comment by accident - just repost - unless it was the comment I intentionally deleted talking about Erasmo Castros past - the BV has never played this game and it will not start now - in fact the reality is I called Erasmo to the mat over his covering for Camarillo when Camarillo refused to denounce this tact being used by Fly Frontera - in fact only the BV called on Camarillo to denounce this conduct - Erasmo kept on deleting my posts calling on people to demand his readers demand Camarillo denounce the use of criminal background checks.

So if you want to use this tact - go post it elsewhere - the BV does not play

As to Erasmo's little hissy fit posted above - I will address that tomorrow - It is part of a post I have been working on off and on for about a week

Why is Cheezmeh protecting Camarillo?

Hopefully not because of calabazas!
