END THE CALABAZA BY VOTING NO FOR CALABAZISTAS AHUMADA, CAMARILLO, ATKINSON, AND LONGORIA

UPDATE:  BPUB gave $250,000 last night to Fly Frontera - this is the same BPUB Camarillo authorized to raise late fees on the poorest of he poor- so now we have the poorest of he poor through late fees funding a start-up airline - HOW IN THE HELL DOES CAMARILLO'S  parents look him in the face and not cry in shame?)

For those who follow the news we learned the word "CALABAZA" became code for pay-off in the Judge Limas indictment and guilty plead. In Brownsville Calabaza comes in many forms. It can be direct or indirect.

I am using the word Calabaza in a very encompassing way- it does not always means money - it can mean a job for yourself or a relative. It can mean support for a political campaign. It can mean a direct payment of cash. I use these three examples because I want people to understand Calabaza is more complex than money.  Remember Fly Frontera is hiring through the home of a convicted felon and not Cameron works, like everyone else.

I knew the Calabaza was real in terms of Camarillo because after I had an honest and frank conversion with Jim Gallagher, Fly Frontera, he authorized Juan Montoya to lie about the conversation and misrepresent what I said about Tony Martinez.  Gallagher asked me, how to overcome the toxic politics of Brownsville.  I told him to wait until after the election and that if Tony Martinez won he would be able to bring calm and reason to the commission.  Gallagher, Montoya and Quintanilla did not like this because it meant Camarillo is not the answer.  Gallagher and Quitanilla were already working with Camarillo directly - I had not know this.  Quintanilla has since admitted to this.  Montoya puts the conversations beginning in August.  This is why they lied about Tony Martinez - it was calabaza for Camarillo.

This was Camarillo's Calabaza - Montoya and Quintanilla attack Tony Martinez with lies and Camarillo gives them the money for Fly Frontera.   I asked Gallagher to tell the truth and denounce Montoya for the lies - he refused.  I asked Camarillo to denounce Montoya for the lies and he refused.

In the case of Ahumada an alien  from Mars could walk into his office and say - "hey we got flights to Mars from Brownsville if you got $2 million in incentive money, and Ahumada would say yes."  Ahumada should have been the strongest voice trying to help Pan Am to get the incentive money.  But for reasons I do not know he was not invited to speak at the inauguration of the airline.  As my regular readers know Ahumada got up and made a fool of himself by calling himself our daddy and us his children.  He gave Charlie Cabler the credit for Pan Am while ignoring the contributions of Larry Brown.  Ahumada went from broke and having to take an equity loan on his home and is now all of a sudden financially sound.  This has happened since the $26,000 check scandal.  My view is Ahumada has a score to settle with Pan Am for not having been invited to speak at the inaugural

If Ahumada speaks he lies.

On the check scandal

"Ahumada said that absent an error on the city's, or his part, the incident would be "dirty politics" at play"

http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/news/city-92432-ahumada-cabler.html

"Ahumada has disputed that he deposited the check, but said that its deposit would have been in error and with no malicious intent."

http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/news/jury-96197-attorney-mayor.html

The mayor in article after article stated he did not deposit the  check.  At trial his lawyer told him the expert would testify that it was in fact the mayor on the tape.  Now the mayor went from "I did not deposit the check." to "I did not have my glasses on."  If you believe this guy, I have a $21.4 million dollar bridge to sell you owned by the Port of Brownsville.

The Mayor told us Tuesday last that Gallagher assured him Quintanilla has nothing to do with this.  But yet the Fly Frontera web page has Quitanilla's home as its Administrative Offices.   If in fact Gallagher told him this, then the mayor should have looked him in the face and said Brownsville does not deal with liars.  But the mayor had the web link and the proof about Quintanilla and lied anyway.

The mayor lied and said he had a letter from Pan Am stating it needed three years before it could start Monterrey service.  The mayor could not produce the letter.  The mayor lied.  Pan Am at its own expense went to Monterrey to find out about bringing in passenger service.  He got back and was told no incentives.  At the same time Quintanilla was being told by Atkinson, Ahumada, Camarillo and Longoria that they would find the incentives.  A Longoria supporter is chastising me for including him as a calabazista.  All I am doing is quoting Quintanilla from his 30 minute commercial provided by the Brownsville City commission at the taxpayers' expense.  If he is lying Rick - then denounce him for lying.

It is black and white  - at the same time a Latino was being told incentive money could be found an Anglo was being told no.  Pan Am should sue the city for racial discrimination.  They should also file a discovery lawsuit to learn who knew what and when and if Pan Am's proprietary information was given to Quintanilla.

In an open records request this appears to be what Pan Am's lawyers are preparing for.  This ORR was not written by Henrick

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/76097067/Pan-Am-open-records

I want to be clear about something - in the first hours of this deal it appears Jim Gallagher may have been a  victim of the unethical conduct of Camarillo, Ahumada, Atkinson, and Longoria, but once he knew what they were doing with Quintanilla and once he knew Quintanilla was using attack and defamation he should have denounced Quintanilla - paid him for his time - and then moved on with the COB in an open and honest way.

On the eve of the election Mayor Ahumada will announce he brought air service from Brownsville to Monterrey and Tampico.  He is using your tax money to promote his campaign.- it is all Calabaza - and by the time Fly Frontera is flying it will be too late to expose the full extent of the Calabaza.

Why would the Mayor denounce an employer paying rent to Brownsville and employing people in Brownsville, while supporting a company with its administrative offices in the home of a convicted felon?.  Jim Gallagher was not even willing to allow his offices to be used as the address of this airline.  It is as if he is running from Fly Frontera.   IF IT LOOKS LIKE CALABAZA IT IS CALABAZA.  None of this makes sense.

As the BV noted yesterday, Atkinson who sources are saying is out of a job with Homeland Security, went from calling Quintanilla the enemy of humanity to being humanity's salvation.  He attacked Quintanilla non-stop for his part in taking down Joe Rod - now he is all of a sudden to be trusted.

IF IT LOOKS LIKE CALABAZA IT IS CALABAZA. None of this makes sense.

Rick Longoria has refused to denounce the trashing of Pan Am.  He has refused to denounce the attacks on Melissa Zamora.  He has refused to demand Gallagher stop hurting Brownsville's business reputation by using a convicted felon to seek and destroy Pan Am with lies.  Longoria has been asked to denounce Atkinson for his lies and phone calls.  All of this has been toxic to Brownsville's business interests and Longoria is dead silent.  Why?

All of this is sending a bad message to the world as to how Brownsville does business.  If you come to Brownsville and you are white and ask for incentives for air service you will be told no so long as a Latino is also asking for it.  You will then be attacked and destroyed by the City of Brownsville.

If this all makes sense to you as to how Brownsville should treat its business partner, Pan Am - then vote for the 4 - but if it smells like a rotting pumpkin - IT IS CALABAZA.

BUT DON'T FRET FLY FRONTERA, AHUMADA, CAMARILLO, ATKINSON, OR LONGORIA - cheezmeh will just keep on typing away to a non-existent audience and then go out for coffee to  congratulate themselves for knowing how to type.

This battle is on the BV - The BV will do what needs to get done - but the resources are limited.  Because I am an individual acting on my own I do not need to form a PAC.

I stand by my previous predictions.

FLY FRONTERA WILL FLY

CAMARILLO WILL BE MAYOR

ATKINSON AND LONGORIA WILL EACH WIN BY 55% OR HIGHER

The real kicker - Ahumada and Camarillo will be in the run-offs.  I will bet the farm, Quintanilla and Montoya and the Herald will attack Ahumada like there is no tomorrow.  They are playing Ahumada, but he is so self absorbed he does not see it.

With the exception of two people I know, everyone I got to agree to vote for Tony Martinez are so mad over his silence on this issue - how Brownsville treats its business partners, the lie, and destruction of Pan Am, they are not voting.  Tony is unaware he has near zero name recognition.  Camarillo and Ahumada own the name recognition issue.  Tony seems unwilling to distinguish himself before the community.  He has the three votes in my family - beyond that everyone I know have pulled their support over his silence over the treatment the CALABAZISTAS (Ahumada, Camarillo, Atkinson, and Longoria) have given Pan Am.  It is no longer about Fly Frontera it is about Brownsville business imagine being destroyed by the CALABAZISTAS.

We are way beyond Fly Frontera - it is the message Brownsville has sent the world about how it does business.  Gallagher knows he has this won which is why he has authorized Quintanilla to keep the lies going.  He knows the CALABAZISTAS will stand with him to the end.  It is their silence and refusal to demand Gallagher end the campaign of lies and defamation which makes them CALABAZISTAS.  It is their campaign issue - it is how they will win - why? - their is no community interest in the truth.  THIS IS PURE CALABAZA - GALLAGHER SEEKS AND DESTROYS and the CALABAZISTAS (Ahumada, Camarillo, Atkinson, and Longoria)  win.

I will say this, I just read the Atkinson family's attack on Pan Am in the Herald - this entire family consists of idiots.  First of all before forming an opinion learn the guy's name.  This Ricardo guy is the idiot who thought his disinformation would get through at the BV.  Pan Am said the cargo will fly sometime in 2011 - it is only April - all the Atkinsons have is disinformation on a man whose name they do  not even know.

This morning I got a typical Sorry Charlie Atkinson email-  He is going to force Pan Am to attend a workshop held by the city.  He going to force Pan Am to disclose proprietary information related to its cargo plans and the companies Pan Am is working with.  Atkinson has lost his mind if he thinks he can do this to a company.  Where is our city commission in the middle of this nightmare and embarrassing conduct of Atkinson - not a one of them will speak up and say - "this is not how the City of Brownsville does business."  Why?  because this is exactly how Brownsville does business.

Guys I will not accept lies against Fly Frontera or hopes they fail.

This deal is done - it is time to focus in how the COB does business and put the blame where it belongs with our city commission.

Gallagher was told he was dealing with a group of calabazistas and he used that to his advantage.

If you care for Brownsville you will hope for their success now that the deal is done - their success is our success.

I will print the truth about the unethical conduct but will not publish through lies.

guys stop telling me to go over to cheezmeh - I have explained I do not understand how to access the discussions- I tried clicking on my account and nothing.

I have asked that you copy and paste the link - since you cannot understand such a simple instruction please stop posting at the BV about cheezmeh.

Go have coffee and praise yourself for the ability to type - that part you seem to understand

Bobby, I think you are right this apparently is a done deal. With everything going on at BISD, and the city wouldn't it be better to boycott all the local elections?

BobbyWC said...

You know I originally supported the boycott idea - but now we can actually put out the 4 and when you ad Troiani leaving the Commission it will mean 5 new faces

The No Calabaza campaign can send a message that there is no place in Brownsville politics for calabazistas.

This is why I withdrew the boycott idea.

I will tell you I am taking a lot of hits for not going after Tony Martinez and his dead silence

All I can say is, this campaign has me at odds with everything I stand for in terms of Tony Martinez - but at this point the other choices are so bad my hands are tied.

if there were any hope in any other candidate my coverage of Tony would be different.

two sources this morning told me Tony made it clear he will not comment on the PUB issue - they went to the commission for permission to raise late fees on the unemployeed and poorest of the poor and now they give this company $250,000. Camarillo voted for these increases.

This is certainly a clear and fair campaign issue - but Tony's advisors are telling him - say nothing except general statements like "Isuppoort jobs" really is that because the other guys do not.

Brownsville's water policy should be conservation. This is Tony's policy. If the other candidates were not so pathetic the BV would have gone nuclear on Tony for such an incredibly stupid statement

Conservation - that is his water policy - he actually said it - but his advisors said if he mentions the weir dam it could cause discussion which might be bad so Tony agrees to say "conservation should be our water policy." If I were a farmer I would be asking if this guy is for real or just plain stupid.

I will pay a big price for even discussing his lack of intelligent water policy. Guys my hands are tied - but in the end Tony remains the only real option. Some times loyalty to someone I have know for 53 years is more important - but in the end Tony with everything bad about him remains the only choice - and I say this independent of my loyalty to this person I have known for 53 years.

okay guys I jusy checked my readership numbers - they are well above average for this time -

I can see from some of the readers people are emailing my post around.

guys - just keep the emails going - knowledge is how we do this

But guys let the Fly Frontera thing go - trying to post lies would could hurt its possibility of success will not help Brownsville and that should be our focus.

I would like to know what each CANDIDATE has to say about all this..has anyone publicly stated their position?

BobbyWC said...

dead silence - people do not get it - no one on the city commission fears losing -

They know their opponents have no money and the people will not organize.

Camarillo could write a check for the entire balance in the city's account to the mafia and Tony Martinez would say nothing

his campaign is a campaign of say nothing and hope for the best.

The problem is no one knows him.

My neighbors asked me who he was when I put his sign on my lawn. They have no idea. Without the signs they would not even know there is an election.

This battle is lost - Brownsville is lost - I truly surrender to teh corrupt - the corrupt are entitled to what they get because organizing a PAC to fight this is too much to ask of the people

The people deserve to get screwed and the corrupt are entitled to what they want.

The people are looking out their window watching a woman being raped and kill all waiting for someone other than themselves to call the police.

It sickens me

But this is politics

Here's the link, though you first have to have a facebook account. If you do, they way you get access to the board is by being "friends" with it.

I'd like to know when the next "forum" will be..where the candidates can state their position..ALL candidates..and answer questions "on the spot". Seems like we only hear about Ahumada, Camarrillo & Martinez. Aren't there 5 people running for office? I haven't heard anything from the others. Speaking of which, I don't know anything really about them either. Are all running for mayor Democrats? Do they work? What have they done "before" running for office? People say we need "change" but how can we learn about what "changes" will be done if no one speaks up? Just sayin.

BobbyWC said...

I do not see a link - don't worry I've lost interest - it cannot be this hard and if it is then it is not worth my time.

the above links has been where candidates have been asked to answer questions - in some cases they answer - in others they simply avoid answering questions and instead submit video of their campaign events.

I have posted the web pages of martinez and garza and camarillo - I will not post Ahumada because of my rule about lies - nothing the man says can be considered trustworthy - as to the other candidate I cannot even tell you his name - no one supporting him has asked I post his web page so it has not been posted

MAY 2011 WILL BE VERY INTERESTING IN BROWNSVILLE! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT!

Anonymous said...

It is true, Tony Martinez overestimates his likability... he thinks he is well known and beloved among all... the truth is no one knows what he actually stands for or against. Tony is "the millionare" who lives in a big house and won't waste his precios time to stand against corruption facing the people whose jobs are threatened if they open their mouth, who struggle to pay their light bill and put food on the table. He will learn a lesson in May when Camarillo comes in first place, if Camarillo votes against frontera calabaza. If Camarillo votes for the calabaza it will hand "Timid Tony" a victory, timid or not

Now more people are informed be,ause of BV. The challenge is for the people to form a PAC as you have stated. All we can hope for is that the candidates that do win will do some good for Brownsville. It seems like there is an abundance of self serving candidates that run for these positions in Brownsville.

For 3 years i have read your blog. I always believed that you provided reasonable discourse. But over the last year and a half you have become so cynical. you have embraced the same tactics you accuse everyone else of using. the professionalism has given way to over the top sarcasm, vicious personal attacks and profanity. Your objective opinions have morph into grandstanding. You can do better. You should do better. You have done better. The items I commented on your blog came from links you posted in October 2010. Yet you chastise me for pointing it out. I posted the truth as stated by Hedricks himself from information found on his website and press release. I guess its easier to trash me than to post my comments and have a rational discourse. Thank you for pointing out my error on the name. My apologies to Mr. Hedricks. I meant him no disrespect. Typos do occur from time to time huh Bobby.

First of all Mr. Atkinson the problem was not the articles - it was the way you used them to manipualte disinformation -

yes it is no great secret they chose to use the name Pan Am because it has market value in Latin America

But your basic problem is they have not brought cargo to Brownsville - they said 2011 it is still 2011 - no matter how much Pan Am is pushed to put out its proprietary information it will not and your dumb as brother will find he has zero support for such a workshop

Pan Am is ready to start the cargo - it will land according to the schedules they have - not one day sooner because you and your brother have games to play.

on the Tony issue - Tony has a major perception problem - in general people do not want to vote for lawyers - he needs to overcome that - further he has refused to refute the lies being put out there by his opponents.

If it were not for the fact I know of Tony through someone who knows him, I would know nothing about him except the Cameron County Demoncrats support him - this by itself would normally mean I vote against him.

But I do knw Ahumada and Camarillo are calabazistas - so that means I could never support them.

Tony fails to understand he is basically a non-entity among the voters - he does not exist

I have no idea who is running his campaign, but I would fire them yesterday because they are working for his defeat.

Again...there are several people running for office next month, WHO HAS SAID WHAT regarding this issue? In regards to Facebook, it's funny because it appears that some candidates are more interested in posting photos of themselves having a really good time or campaigning instead of discussing REAL issues..and the REAL problems of our city..most importantly: WHAT THEY WILL DO TO FIX THEM!

8 months doing business in Brownsville and nothing to show for it. I believe that it's fair to ask questions about the future of Pan Am as it relates to the city's airport. One last thing, you can't play the race card when things don't go the way Mr. Hedricks wants. There are many Anglo business owners in Brownsville that are very successful and pillars of the community. Lastly, chill with the name calling. It's beneath you. “Profanity is the common crutch of the conversational cripple.”

BobbyWC said...

I agree with you - as a voter I have sent several of the mayoral candidates simple quetions and they refuse to answer them - they are not going to - they expect us to vote on what they put in their campaign material

If it were not for the calabazistas I would support a boycott, but I think we really need to oppose the calabazistas

i give it a year before either of these airlines go into the annals of brownsville boondoggles. lets just hope it doesn't cost us too much before we realize we've been had.

I agree with the name calling..can become petty but what is just as bad? Read the Herald about the mayor's meeting, several people are commenting by giving their views & what I don't understand is why a commissioner should have to be so sarcastic in his response? I find that plain RUDE. If people are in disagreement, agree to disagree but no need for sarcastic remarks. That's a turnoff to voters.

BobbyWC said...

a liar is a liar - it is not bane calling - a calabazista is a calabazista - people are who they are and it is not name calling

Ahumada's public conduct on all of this was bad - he has killed any chance of winning the mayorship - but his votes will go to Camarillo
