THE BV WILL TAKE THIS AS TRUTH - THE READER DID A GOOD JOB IT SEEMS

This is a correction, Dr. Saavedra worked with Atkinson at Santa Rosa.

"Dr. Saavedra was with BISD then was the principal at St Lukes for 9 years. After that she went to Santa Rosa (where Dr. Atkinson was Supt). She left there and went to progresso for less than a year. She now is a classroom teacher at Incarnate Word Academy. This can be verified by googling her name.

The so called "Christian" elected board member applied several times for administrative positions in the local school district of which she did not obtained. Perhaps, the selection committees or administration saw what the voters did not see. She would have not taken the parochial school position if she had been selected for the applied positions in the school district.

Ms. Saavedra - is this is not true please let the BV know and I will remove the comment - the true part I am concerned with is, did you apply with BISD and not get the job - if this is false I will remove the comment and post a special post noting same

She applied for principal's positions for the last 3 years. She made semi-finalist a couple of times, but never finalist as I am aware of. So did Dr. Atkinson. Susan Galvan, who is friends with both of them also interviewed for Area Supt I am told.

The Los Fresnos Fly By Nighters! They all ran to Los Fresnos and then want to come back to BISD.

Other Districts did not put up with their BS but down here @ BISD everyone is afraid to speak up. You can't really file a complaint to you higher-ups because it goes no where. Its sad, but to many, its not worth the fight. I really wish The Superintendent would evoke some change in this "compadre system," corrupt BOARD Members, and stop promoting bad principals to Admin Jobs at the main building.

Hey Bobby, everyone knows that if you leave BISD to get a higher education degree, example "PHD", BISD will not rehire you. They BECOME VERY ANGRY and take it very personal that you left!!!!! Anyway that is what I hear and I have seen that it is pretty much true. SAD!!!!!!!!!!!

With respect to poster 10:01. I agree with him/her 150%. What people don't realize is the emotional rollacoaster you're going to experience when you fire a long time employee that has become ineffective. They have families that are going to be affected, and you're going to be affected also. It is very lonely at the top, and I have shed many a tear. Now firing a theif, that's a different story!

If you break your contract in the middle of the school year to pursue another job, most likely that you will not be rehired. The district encourages teachers to pursue higher degrees and many have done it and still work for the district. For example, the administrator for KBSD left the district and returned with a doctorial degree.

I think those at the top, like the one who posted @7:40am, are part the problem. He/she said the key word "ineffective"! Well, what happens to these "ineffective" employees is that they get transferred around and some get promoted to the main building. Yes, they have families, and its real emotional to let "ineffective" employees go, but making it easy for these employees is not fair! I say "LAZY" instead of "ineffective"!
BISD is full of these type of employees that have no sense of responsibility for their jobs and are just their until their retirement date come up! The system is so messed up.

This is a real problem caused by all trustees past and present - this is one of many reasons supers need to be hired and fired by the regional offices -

You are 100% right - but all supers will just give in rather than anger the trustees - on this issue they are all guilty

guys - I rejected a post - i am not going to post rumors -= which may be true - about which trustees family members are getting jobs

If you can give me a name and I can verify it I will post it

Yes, I did that previous post and I do agree that lazy ineffective people need to go, but they need to do it early in their careers before they become part of the furniture. I do agree with you!
