PRESAS-GARCIA AND ESCOBEDO TAKE ANOTHER ASS KICKING IN HIRING OF INTERIM COUNSEL

Let me begin by saying Dr. Saavedra showed a poise and professionalism which brought confidence to the process. She made sure everyone knew the firms selected for final review all met the standards recommended by national organizations.

Pena, Arguilar and Dr. Saavedra led the charge that the Board Members should be given time to review the packages. Presas-Garcia openly challenged Pena on this issue.  She wanted an immediate decision.  Presas-Garcia along with unknown people did the initial review and narrowed the search. I will do an open records request to find out which firms Presas-Garcia rejected outright without the consent of the Board.  She withheld the information from the board until two days ago, and then a larger package until today. I told my readers my source was telling me Presas-Garcia was withhold information from the Board.

Oliveira's firm was by far the least qualified. They are not even on the same planet as the other firms.

The other two firms seem highly qualified - I will see if through a public information request I can get the package given to the trustees. I will post them so the people can see how each firm stands out on their own merits. This is in the interest of transparency.

Another meeting will be held on Wednesday next to decide who to hire.

This thing about Judge Cornejo was bogus - based on the criteria, she was not even on the same planet as the other candidates. This is not a judgment, just a reality.  Not everyone can be an expert in everything, but be otherwise highly qualified in their fields.  Further, why would she leave a good job for a temporary job? I am sorry she got caught up in what I am certain was dirty work by con artists tied to Escobedo and Presas-Garcia.

I will end by saying that Dr. Saavedra will do well if she continues to show the same poise and professionalism in future meetings. I am never about the result - I am about how we get to the result.

A poster was posting this while I was posting my post - I am moving it to here -

Also I would like people to comment on how each board member conducted themselves - good an bad - If saavedra conducts herself in the future as she did tonight, she will be a favorite among the people.

Okay anony's post

Presas-Garcia looks to be 0-3 when it comes to hiring a new attorney.

Couldn't get the dog to hunt at her very first meeting, second time was the 1st special meet which fizzled, and now tonight's meet was a non-starter.

Pena made a good point that all that info seems to have been kept from the board members until just before the meeting.

And who were the other four firms that Presas-Garcia deemed unworthy?

And why were kept from the other board members?

This keeps getting better and better

Caty Presas-Garcia was drill by the other board members. The hiring of the board attorney is not the role of the president but by all board members. Why was Mrs. Garcia the only one involved in the attorney’s matrix? It is so transparent Mrs. Garcia and Mr. Escobedo has the firm of their choice. Who are the 9 firms that submitted applications? Once again, you see another wasted special call meeting because they have a political payback.

How much did it cost the taxpayers to have saldana there - all of these special meetings are costing the taxpayers and presas-garcia does not give a rats ass - screw the children she needs the money for her corrupt agenda

What a waste of taxpayer's monies? Mrs. Garcia should be remove as board president. Mrs. Saavedra should place an agenda item to remove Mrs. Garcia as board president.

I think Dr. Saavedra has earned our respect - people are free to not use her title - just consider my suggestion

BTW - I hope she does exactly as you suggest

I thought Pena, Aguilar, Colunga and Saavedra were cool and professional.

Longoria didn't exist at this meet.

Escobedo seems to be laying back for now.

Presas-Garcia was pressed a bit by Saldana about the fee issue. I wonder if one meet she will get the best of herself and just go off on somebody.

Even though there was no RFQ, could Presas-Gracia be in trouble if the fee issue was used as a criteria for dropping the other four firms from the list the board was allowed to review?

On the fees issue I think Presas-Garcia simply mispoke - she does this all of the time - also she is challenged in pronouncing words with more than 4 letters - It is funny sometimes - I feel like I am watching the Bowery Boys when she speaks

Sorry, you are right it is Dr. Saavedra. Mrs. Longoria and Mr. Escobedo saw the writing on the wall no votes.

Do you know the names of the firms that she did allow the board to review. Has Presas-Garcia appointed the others to any board committes yet or is she going to be in charge of everything.

Keep up the good work!

I am going to do an open records request for the other firms - lets see if I get them - I think we need 100% transparency

Hey Bobby,

There is hope for the future of BISD. It appears that those board members who actually care about the people are finally going to align themselves to make a strong hold for the people. NICE!

It may surprise you to learn that I am not an advocate of a group of 4 or 3 - each Board member needs to demand transparency (none in how Presas-Garcia pu this together) they need to study what is happening (glad Dr. Saavedra joined that club) and then make an honest fair decision.

I am never about the result - I am about the integrity of the process.

Personally I think they should inform Presas-garcia they will not vote until they are allowed to see the credentials of the 4 missing firms - but I will say with the exception of Oliveira's firm the other ones seem to be on the up and up

They need to demand that Escobedo cannot vote if he intends to vote for Oliveira - remember Oliveira gave him a $1,000 and tried to get away with a back door deal to begin with

Hey Bobby, these people have no conscience and without that you are beating a dead horse. So sad for the public because they voted them into office not realizing that they are snakes. So so sad!!!!!!!!!!
