NEWS FLASH - CINEMARK TO START SHOWING CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS

With the economy hurting every industry Cinemark has announced it will sell tickets for $6.00 to Tuesday night showings of Brownsville City Commission meetings.  They will make their money on popcorn and candy.  Now this is innovation and good entertainment.

Now to be serious, with Stickmans closed I do not know where, but some bar similar to Stickman's need to start Tuesday night specials.  Bars are slow on Tuesday nights - they need to turn the channel onto the City Commission meetings and sell beer beer beer. Hey maybe Sorry Charlie Atkinson and Pat Almight might join us.

Bobby, it's a very good idea. But I'm thinking that people like Dagoberto Barrera and the Rev. Resendez are gonna want a cut in the profits when they are on. And I can imagine them now, uping their moronic acts for beer drinkers.

Even better if they would hold the meeting at Sticklands. With their acts and the vocabulary they use, even Dr. Gownen's "kick ass" comment, it should bring in a bunch of customers. I thought only the BISD board members used that type of language over public address system - our role models for our children.

While you are at it, why not invite the BISD board to join them. I just found out that the board also gave anther Atkinson brother a position in the personnel dept at BISD. Now Otis is running for the board again, Sylvia is the grants' writer, Sandra is the Sp. Ed. Olympics CEO, Mary Tolman doing something at the main office and her husband at Pace. Sandra Cortez at Sharp, Karen Trevino at Cummings, Judy Colunga a permanent substitute - all in the family - no nepotism ?but surely a circus!

You aren't serious about Cinemark charging $6.00 to see the City of Brownsville Commission Meetings.

Make a movie about the oxen eating sour grapes - call it Sossi's Fable. He is wrong about the city charter and he knows it. Now if the oxen would kick his --- out of the job he doesn't do.
