PRINCE OF PERSIA

I needed to get out and I went to see this movie although I was certain the special effects were going to ruin the movie for me. I was wrong. This is actually a great movie with great special effects and great fight scenes which are not over done.

Jake G. is a street kid pulled from the moment he is about to loose a hand a punishment for stealing. The King of Persia sees a strong character trait in the boy. He is raised as a son of the King.

Fast forward a conspiracy is hatched to kill the King. Jake's character is accused of killing the King. The remainder of the movie is about the Prince trying to prove his innocence and in the process having to use his Princely judgment to save humanity from the real culprit in the killing of the King.

I really enjoyed this film a lot. I hope if you have not seen the film you will take in a matinee with your kids. Boys for sure, maybe girls over 10 are good to go on this film.

I am not a pessimist, but Bobby, at the prices you have to pay for a movie, the popcorn, the coke or whatever else you want, not many of us can afford the luxury. If only they would allow us to take a home-popped corn, a can coke from home and a pickle, like we used to do in the 50's and 60's, maybe some of us senior citizens could afford to go enjoy a real movie. I just wait for them to show on TV and then I can always flip the channel if I do not like the movie.

I think you are right about the total cost. You will not I have not done very many reviews as of late - I refuse to spend the money unless I have a good sense I will enjoy the film, or I just have to get out.

It saddens me that the young people today cannot afford tickets for professional sports. I use to pay $1.30 for general admission to the Mets in NY - on a paper route I could afford this - not today. It was also a $1.30 for a hot dog and soda.

Every so often I find a good film in the $5.00 bin at Walmart. It is worth the challenge sometimes.

I don't get out much and have been collecting movies for a mediaserver, I put together in the house. I can watch my movies at my bedside computer or the big screen tv when my legs don't hurt much.
PS The VA enrolled me this week..
