I liked this movie, but I can certainly understand why some people may find it slow and boring. The basic premise of the movie is, everyone tells the truth. There is no concept of a lie, or a mistake in what you say. So if you tell a bank teller you have more money in your bank account than you actually have, she will assume the bank made a mistake.
There is no sense of God or heaven or hell. So when the main character's mother is dying, to make her feel better he lies about the existence of a place like heaven. This is a new concept for him and all he understands is it makes his mother happy as she dies.
Society's reaction to this "heaven" is interesting to say the least. What makes this film is the reality of how easy it is to dupe people into believing what ever you tell them. It is about how you can get ahead by manipulating people with lies. Although in the end when it counts he does the right thing.
The film is also about rejecting the myths we have been taught which can lead to bigotry.
This film has many political overtones. If you can enjoy a film which makes you laugh and think at the same time this film is for you.
