Some of my older readers may remember the Marks' family interior decorating business on Boca Chica. The second oldest son, Rudy Marks, age 67, passed away today of a heart attack. He was living in North Texas at the time. He is survived by his mother, Olivia Marks, brothers Joe, Alex, and John, and sisters Grace and Marta. He is also survived by his wife, Martha and several children.

I do not know if the family will be posting a formal obit notice in the Herald.

El Rocinante is reporting that Commissioner Zamora refuses to answer questions as to her employment and frequent abstentions. You have said that people get stupid after they're elected. Are you willing to ask questions as well as to her employment and the potential conflicts of interest that comes with it? The Herald is reporting the commission will look to give the weir dam permit to the CCRMA at tonight's meeting. She is a CCRMA/HNTB Public Relations Consultant. It's amazing you or the Herald have not reported her ties to CCRMA, HNTB, and the Sports Park but go after the others.

Time to Act Like a President

By Richard Cohen
Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Sooner or later it is going to occur to Barack Obama that he is the president of the United States. As of yet, though, he does not act that way, appearing promiscuously on television and granting interviews like the presidential candidate he no longer is. The election has been held, but the campaign goes on and on. The candidate has yet to become commander in chief.

Take last week's Group of 20 meeting in Pittsburgh. There, the candidate-in-full commandeered the television networks and the leaders of Britain and France to give the Iranians a dramatic warning. Yet another of their secret nuclear facilities had been revealed and Obama, as anyone could see, was determined to do something about it -- just don't ask what.

The entire episode had a faux Cuban missile crisis quality to it. Something menacing had been discovered -- not Soviet missiles a mere 100 miles or so off Florida but an Iranian nuclear installation about 100 miles from Tehran. As befitting the occasion, various publications supplied us with nearly minute-by-minute descriptions of the crisis atmosphere earlier in the week at the U.N. session -- the rushing from room to room, presidential aides conferring, undoubtedly aware that they were in the middle of a book they had yet to write. I scanned the accounts looking for familiar names. Where was McNamara? Where was Bundy? Where, in fact, was the crisis?

In fact, there was none. The supposedly secret installation had been known to Western intelligence agencies -- Britain, France, the United States and undoubtedly Israel -- for several years. Its existence had been deduced by intelligence analysts from Iranian purchases abroad, and it was pinpointed sometime afterward. What had changed was that news of it had gone public. This happened not because Obama announced it but because the Iranians beat him to it after discovering that their cover was blown. They then turned themselves in to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna and, as usual, said the site was intended for the peaceful use of nuclear energy. These Persians lie like a rug.

I always find it amazing when people claim to know about all of my inquiries, phone calls, e-mails, meetings etc.

As to the MZ issue - I am investigating. The rumors abound and disinformation is readily available.

I am getting a lot of conflicting information. First she works for someone, now she is a consultant - which is it?

I am working on several stories. I will not deal in rumors, or speculation. I will not use as a source a blog which only idiots read for accuracy and truthfulness.

The truth will come out, when and only when I get solid and accurate information about the truth.

Here is a tidbit - Sorry Charlie Atkinson and MZ are not getting along - something worth considering.

They aren't getting along? You don't say. You know Bobby, when the sun comes up the sky is blue. The Easter bunny isn't real. Elvis is dead.

Conflicting information can be solved by using a book thingy on the internet.
