ATKINSON AND AHUMADA REACHED A NEW LOW AND SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO ROMAN PEREZ AND IN FACT THE PEOPLE

Sorry for no post on Wednesday other than the late post on Freedom Communications. I had an early morning meeting on the island, and expect to be out early again Thursday. This is Thursday's post.

I have not used this term in a long time because I saw improvement in how the mayor ran city commission meetings. After this week’s meeting I suspect I will be calling him Pat Almighty for the balance of his term. I do not know what planet this moron has been living on his entire life, but as the elected official he does not get to decide what is and is not proper speech. This guy would be tarred and feathered if he tried to oversee a public meeting on healthcare reform. His disrespect for the speakers is beneath any elected official. City Attorney Sossi is even more worthless than Pat Almighty - he should have declared the mayor out of line. But as I have said before, Sossi will wipe the dirty little ass of every commissioner to keep his job.

Then there was Atkinson. He was laughing when Roman Perez complained about who I assume was Atkinson opening his mail. The intent was clear - to drown out Perez. It was obvious who ever was opening the mail was doing it into the mic to make it more difficult for the audience at home to hear Roman Perez. The people have a right to be heard without childish game playing by the commissioners.

Pat Almighy - when you decide to conduct the meetings like a responsible adult maybe people will respect you. You had a duty to stop the clear attempt to drown out Roman Perez - you did not - because you are a pathological liar who uses the position of mayor to advance only that which serves you. You clearly had no desire for the public comment period to be orderly. If you did you would have stopped the child like behavior.

Mark Sossi true to form sat there and did nothing. Next week I hope at least one commissioner will have the interest of the people at heart and demand an explanation as to why this happened and why it went unchallenged by Pat Almighty and Shister Sossi. If not one commission is willing to come forward and demand accountability for what happen, then no commission has the right to demand the respect of the people. If the commissioners are unwilling to respect the people, then the people have no reason to respect the commissioners.

Are you defending Roman...again? Do you even know what he was claiming? Roman is so full of shit. Sossi wouldn't let them violate TOMA endangering his cushy job. I think he's making it up.

At this last meeting, Roman Perez tried to speak during the item about the illegal sale of a police vehicle. Pat looked at him, smiled, ignored him, and quickly called for a vote. The illegal sale was approved without allowing Roman Perez to speak. Just not right.

to anony one: without getting into the merits of your claim Roman was wrong, it is your position if a speaker is wrong then teh commission should treat him with disrespect by playing games such as crush paper in the mic so people cannot hear what he is saying.

Now we know your standard and we know why government has become a joke.

As a viewer it's frustrating to see the same public speakers over and over again but they do only speak for 3 minutes and they are entertaining. I say the commissioners grin and bear it instead of acting childish or fighting back with them. They deserve that much respect for taking the time to participate in the process. It's no secret Roman Perez has written some nasty stuff against at least two of the commissioners but he expects respect when he goes up to address them..... I find that a bit hypocritical.

No, I didn't say it was right or wrong for a commissioner to muffle a speaker. I said Roman was full of shit. He was wrong. I am surprised you would defend him. What's with you not going into the merits? Shouldn't it be a matter of priciple to you to not defend such clear wrongness especially when it comes to points of law?

Like you I am not sure if it was Atkinson who was the culprit. Sure Perez was looking in his direction, but it could very well have been Zamora causing the distraction. They sit so close to each other at meetings. Everyone knows Perez and she have a history. It's just as easy for me to believe Charlie was smirking at someone else's misdeeds. My money's on Zamora as the Phantom Crumpler.

It is about acting like professionals. The speakers do deserve respect whether you agree with them or not.

Now I will admit I thought I was going to piss my pants when Roman said he was about transparency - this from a man who ran an announomous blog with a near psychotic obsession with the Atkinsons - this from a man who was forced to admit he was posting endless lies about Melissa Zamora while claiming his right to post anonymously.

One of many problems with Roman is, no commissioner will ever consider him credible. I was at a function at Palm Resaca one time wherein people were making fun of him when they found out he was running for office.

Roman is the type person who only befriends people who will lie to him or are too stupid to see how people receive him. This is all too sad.

He may be right about the alleged latest TOMA violations. I had no interest in looking it up so I have not commented on it. If he is right people need to know he is right.

I have discussed when he is right in the past because I know most people simply do not pay attention when he speaks. This is sad.

One last word on it. Roman needs to put his money where is mouth is. If he believes there is a TOMA violation then he needs file a pro se lawsuit. These are not difficult lawsuits to compile. Anyone with simple research skills can find a model of one on line.

I grow board across the board with everyone who complains about these things and never acts to sue the city. My view is, either take action and sue or shut up.

I believe you confuse his former blog with Chris Davis, but that isn't the point. I agree with your point that a speaker has a right to be heard. To be clear, I don't believe I was disagreeing with you on your overall point. I heard him. I hear all the speakers at the circus. I believe he was full of shit because how could the city commission violate TOMA when no action took place at an executive session? Isn't action a key component in TOMA?

Why would someone sue the city especially Roman who has no money? It costs the plantiff to spend money twice. They spend on fees that go along with the lawsuit. They also have their tax dollars spent on a lawsuit they filed to defend the rats. What is the end justification for suing for a TOMA violations? It isn't like there is money to be made in suing this or any other city.

What could you sue them for other than a moral victory? There are no recoverable damages. I think having the moral victory in claiming a violation is cheaper and smarter than actually filing a lawsuit that helps an attorney get more money. Aren't you against excessive lawyer fees?

"I grow board across the board..."

It's "I grow bored across the board...", you stupid fuck. Is everything about lawsuits to you? Do you get your jollies off wasting our court's time? Do you get sexually eroused by the site of a frivolous lawsuit? Do you cum your pants every time you file a frivolous lawsuit? You're a sick fuck.

If you win the lawsuit you get your fees back. But your argument is simple - TOMA violations are not worth going after - why have TOMA if no one should ever sue.

I never said he should file a lawsuit. I said he should stop complaining and put his money on the table and file a lawsuit. The difference is I am not commenting on the merits.

But again - why have TOMA if no one is going to ever enforce it?

Anony, while I appreciate the question I am not going to get into anyone's private medical history.

I discuss mine in hopes people will think about these issues. People die of colon cancer every day because of ignorance - this is why I am so open in my discussion of my own multiple colon diseases.

Sometimes I hope that people will be more open about seeking care if they read about someone else being open about their own illnesses.

So in the end, I will discuss my own health, but no one elses.
