JUST A FEW MORE WORDS

BISD:

I am in near disbelief over this morning’s news that BISD is suing to prevent disclosure of the Rodriguez report. The majority Board Members have done themselves a disservice by refusing to release the report. The members of the public who have been on the fence over this BISD mess will certainly view these latest events as evidence that the majority is acting in bad-faith. As I have said before, the majority, although correct in wanting to get rid of Gonzales and Rendon, have acted politically in their decision making, and not based on valid reasons. This is all too apparent in the decision to not release the Rodriguez report.

MISS CALIFORNIA:

It is sad when a stupid beauty pageant can take up so much news time. Let me first say Perez Hilton is a jerk for having asked the question in the first place. His subsequent discussions on the issue only reinforce my view he is a jerk. I personally found Miss California’s answer to be honest and refreshing, albeit misguided. But those who want to strip her of her crown over the incident are jerks. I hope Mr. Trump comes to her defense in his final decision over the matter. My only concern with Miss California is her claim she is doing God’s work. Yes posing semi-nude and promoting ignorance if God’s work - you go girl! None of this is a basis to strip her of her crown -

The agreement to allow Rodriguez to stay on until Dec. 2009 was made by the OLD school board...The agreement NOT to disclose the reports were part of that agreement...This is an old story.
Why does the Herald only speak to Presas-Garcia? Is she filing a complaint against Ricardo J. Navarro as a private citizen or as a member of the Board?
Typical Herald story throwing stuff up at the wall to get a reaction.
Again i ask what are Garcia's motives in this? She was backed Gonzales when they got rid of the gentle man who ran the Natatorium when she, the secretary, filed complaint after complaint against him, for no cause....Now she diverts attention from Gonzales' case and tries to shift it to Rodriguez on the day of the meeting to decide Gonzales'fate? Come on, give me a break...

I think the Herald is shifting the story to suit their own needs - Gary Long is a complete joke as a reporter - The Herald has decided Gonzales and Rendon are good and no amount of evidence or reality will change Cavaso's mind

Presas-Garcia is just their source to make it appear Gonzales and Rendon are victims - she is a joke and i am 100% certain she will be a one term Board Member - if she lasts that long.

If the US Dept of Educ. persues the FERPA investigation I somehow think Presas-Garcia will resign

Nevertheless, my interest is piqued. I want to see the report on Rodriguez now. My impression has been for some time that he's held his post because of his rumored miles of files of dirt on everyone around him rather than competence, making him something of the J. Edgar of BISD. Perhaps some of you recall some of the bad old days at the end of Raul Besteiro's tenure when Joe sat on the board himself. Board meetings were at the old media center at Russell Elementary, and during one crowded event, Joe sat glaring at the crowd like a vulture, snapping at me once with a "What are you looking at?" as I stood wondering how this beer distributor figured into the district for which I worked. I also recall that the only way to get him off the board was to offer him his present post.

Another spot-on character assessment in regards to Presas-Garcia, BWC. With the aid of the foolishly incompetent Gary Long, she has categorically lied to the public twice in the last few days. It has become crystal clear that neither Presas-Garcia nor the Herald is willing to let the facts get in the way of their agenda. BTW, what are the circumstances surrounding the FERPA investigation?

I sned the Colunga lawuit in as a FERPA complaint. Colunga as a parent had a duty to demand a FERPA investigation - he did not -this causes me to question his true motivation in the lawsuit.

The Joe Rodriquez investigation was started by Hector Gonzales and Pat Lehman. There is proably a lot he has done wrong but there is no reason to release information about a person that would be considered a personnel matter if there was not punishable wrong doing. If there was Hector Gonzales would of proceeded to fire him a long time before he was suspended. He is leaving and just let him move on if they could of terminated him with out a TEA hearing it would of been done. This method saves money in the long run. He will soon be gone.

What's going on in the Rendon case? Is it over?

So posing semi-nude is not God's work?
