THREE MOVIE REVIEWS - THIS MEANS I AM REALLY BORED AND HAVE NO PLACE TO BE

ZOHAN

Friday night I saw Adam Sandler’s new movie Zohan. It was classic Sandler - if you are a fan you will not be disappointed. I will say, I would not take young girls to this one. A lot of sex - and a couple of butt scenes - too skinny to be his real butt - BTW ladies. One thing I liked a lot about the film is that it actually had a very important political message about how power centers or people obsessed with power are the real source of why people fight and kill each other. This was kind of nice because people going for a mindless movie were kind of forced to consider this message.

THE HAPPENING

On Friday I really wanted to see the Happening, but it was sold out which is how I came to see Zohan. Anyway this is his best so far. This guy is good, real good. I would say one of the most creative scripts for a suspense mystery film I have seen in a very, very long time. Most, but not all, of the science which is presented in the film is quite accurate - this makes it all the more frightening. The film combines fact and fiction to present a semi-doomsday scenario wherein the people are basically at the mercy of the planet.

SECONDHAND LIONS

This film is actually playing on TNT. Wow - is all I can say. If you are a single mom with a son - this film is a must. The mom is actually one of the bad people in this film, but at least with all of her faults, and for all the wrong reasons, she leaves her son to be raised by her mother’s brothers. These are the two coolest uncles ever. I so loved this film. I wish I had read the book first. This would have made for a perfect summer read. I hope some of you men in particular can catch this film. Just wow -
