IT’S A HODGEPODGE DAY - SO A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING AND NOTHING

SAVING THE PLANET AND OIL

My neighbor noticed that on many mornings I am watering plants from a large white office looking garbage can. She wanted to know if I was fertilizing that often. You only need to look at my plants to know I am too lazy to mix the miracle grow. I am actually into saving electricity and into recycling. The water is recycled humidity. At night, on most nights, before going to bed I turn off the air conditioning in favor of the dehumidifier. Most nights are not really hot - they are just humid. I save on electricity, and use the several gallons of collected water to water my plants. (I think I paid about $250.00 on Target.com)

Did you know that if you want to you can recycle and save the costs incurred by the city to dump your garbage. During this time of the year it takes me two weeks to fill one garbage can. During the winter it takes 4-5 weeks. What is the difference? Grass clippings. I am thinking about buying 4 rubber garbage cans and once every month and a half going to the dumps and dumping the grass directly into the mulch area. This will mean my garbage will need to be picked up once a month. I recycle everything, including humidity. There are so many ways to save gas if we just try.

Along the lines of energy, yesterday it came out that by a 2/1 benefit the Democrats receive the most money in donations from those speculating in oil. The evidence also shows the unions which support the Democrats are dumping hundreds of millions of retirement money into oil speculation. For those of you waiting for the Dems to do something, do not hold your breath - suicide is still illegal in Texas. And knowing Texas, they will arrest you for it, even though you are dead.

CONGRESS PASSES FUNDS FOR LOCAL RAIL

Yesterday Congress passed a veto proof AMTRAK Bill which provides grant money for local communities to begin to develop rail service. Will Cameron County look into this money to develop rail between Brownsville and Raymondville? Doubt it - Maybe they need to call Dr. Pena for Lasik - maybe he can give them the vision they seem to lack. God it would be nice if I could take the rail to San Antonio. Maybe I should send a gitano over to Commissioners court to teach them something or two about visions.

PADDLING BISD BOARD MEMBERS - IT IS TIME THE JUDGE ORDERS SO

My view of parents who paddle or spank their kids is simple - you failed when they were little and now you are paying the price - so pay the fine and stop bitching. I am so tired of parents looking to the government to solve their failures as parents, and then bitching when they do not like the solution.

Now BISD is different - when a parent drops their kid off at school and watches them walk into the building they should be able to rely on BISD, or any other school district for that matter, to keep the kids there until the end of the day. So my view is, until BISD closes the highschool campuses, every time a kid skips out the parents get to paddle every single Board Member 10 times.

PROFESSIONALISM

In a case wherein I am doing the briefing as a consultant related to disabled vets and student loans, the clerks office has made a mess of the case. Complaints went ignored until I called and complained to the clerk for the chief judge. Yesterday he called me on behalf of the judge and apologized. The matter has been taken care of. We had an agreement he would call me by today one way or the other. He called me yesterday. Now that is professionalism - try it some time. You fix problems by agreeing to follow-up deadlines. I guess they only teach that at Harvard.

THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOW DONE IT - THEY ARE RENAMING DISNEY CHARACTERS

Pluto is now plutoid - What was his crime to have his manhood so diminished? Some size queen decided he was not big enough? Does this mean because one of the twins is smaller than the other I can no longer call them the twins? Somethings are just stupid.

PETTINESS

Remember the only rule which matters - Only I can be petty - yes it is true on occasion I get on some people - but I do point out when things go right and I tend to move on eventually. But guys, please stop with the pettiness. Make your point and move on - there is really no room for me and my readers to be petty - so let’s leave the pettiness to the pro - me. - Now go recycle that humidity and watch your electric bill come down.

This should be cause for concern. I guess when one bubble pops, we just blow up another one.

BW,

In professional curiosity, which pension funds are you speaking of and where is it being invested?
